Freelance eCommerce Page

I built my ecommerce website www.mavricks.co a few months ago. It's a website for customers (currently USA only) to hire freelancers for photography, graphic design, videos, web dev.

Right now I want to have it wear freelancers will pay to sign up to be a member where they will go through a one time background check. For customers they will pay to have a job post.

I need to add a how to page (or I'll add it to the home screen). I don't have much of a budget for advertising, but I email sales leads in the real estate industry to potentially make job posts.

What else do you think should be added? Rather than sales leads, and telling everyone I know about the website, what are some low budget solutions to getting the name out?

Thanks!

You will have very hard times establishing this site with the enormous competition of Freelancer, Upwork and Fiverr. You said that you don't have a real marketing budget, but exactly that is needed to create a positive feedback loop for this kind of business (attracting new people which makes it even more attractive for new people to enter etc.)

The point is, a freelancer platform lives on the fact that there are either a ton of freelancers and you win through quantity or that you are really specializing in one certain field and excel in quality there.

However, for now you should do something like a USP. At the moment your site looks extremely basic and to be honest I would never try to hire someone there just because it says "Find The Best Freelance Creatives Nationwide". I mean your customers know that this is not true. I'd rather choose a statement more fitting to your business and upload a video or something explaining the process and why they should choose you.

    Good luck!
