Hello fellow warrior

So here's my problem,

I got 40% open rate on my first email (welcome email) ,and then they receive their freebie report (the reason why they opted in in my list) and so on

But after that... the second email that send 2 days later,i got 23% open rate...

After that, the third, fourth and so on i got 0% open rate...

Why is that happen and how can i fix that ?

I'm using aweber as my email marketing company...

My business model is=affiliate business(digital product)
company: clickbank...

product that I'm promoting:
no nonsense muscle building
from vince delmonte

I'm in muscle building market...

Wtf !
I'm bust my ass, work hard to creating a great followup and pre sell email, and also attractive headline...

I'm totally blind right now,
what else should i do ?

i suggest you to do the second email to be sent out the second day when they subscribed to your list... because you have to remember that you are not the only person emailing them... selling them products and providing them information...

treat them as your friends, gain their trust.... not a ATM machine..

the reason they subscribe to your list is for information, you need to give them more information and value... the slowly you sell them the products once in a while ...

A 40% open rate for the free report is pretty low. In my list in the survival niche, my second email currently has a 73% open rate and the title is "Unannounced Bonus [FREE Survival Content]" In the message body I keep it short. I remind them of who I am and that they requested the free guide by giving me the email. I then created a short supplement to the free guide I gave them in the previous email.

Just remember that an open rate isn't going to pay the bills. You need conversions. Of course an open rate is important but you need to build that relationship early on to get conversions down the road.

I touched on this before with another thread you had about your sales page. You're not seeing the bigger picture here.

Every part of your sales funnel has to be optimised if you want to actually make money.

There's many, many issues preventing you from getting success at the moment. Overall you're presenting low quality information in an extremely competitive market.

If your lead magnet and emails are anything like your sales page I'm not surprised you're seeing these types of numbers. The fact that you're seeing this drop off should tell you that what you're offering isn't good enough.

It's been pointed out to you before that you need to hire a professional. At the very least, hire a good quality proofreader to make all your written material sound professional.

Agree with Tim on this one.

Most of your subscribers are on dozens of other lists. Most of them will only open emails from people that draw their attention.

There are a few ways to draw attention to yourself. The best way, that's the most profitable, is to have good quality engaging emails.

    Hello Mike

Can you post the second email that you send to your list so we can see what your saying?

Personally Im also looking at optimising my email marketing. I have looked at so called email marketing experts and signed up to their lists to see what/how they send. So far im not impressed AT ALL!!

My niche is not about making money online (MMO), and the email lists that I signed up for are about MMO so maybe this approach works for that niche.

One in particular that I signed up for was "Ben Settle" and he basically sends me the same boring email trying very hard to sell me a $20 product that he says is worth $297!! I think its very poorly done (Just my opinion) and I would never buy into these sort of gimmicks. Its very obvious he is trying very hard to sell....There is no educational content from him AT ALL.... This kinda defeats the purpose (in my opinion) since all he does is tell me silly things (that I dont find funny) and then pushes me to buy. He isnt building any credibility with me that he is an authority figure in the industry at all.... But yet many "say" they use his emailing model successfully so I guess there are many ways to skin a cat. But this method is just not for me!!

Im a little different and I educate, educate, educate in my emails. And then sprinkle some links in the email (not too many). Then at the bottom I have links to all my products in a nice (un-pushy way)

The way I see it is this....

They have to trust that I know what im talking about in order to buy a product from me....becoming an authority!
I have to build trust over time and consecutive emails.
Everyone will not click my product links straight away or they might click and not buy straight away.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction: The harder you try and sell/convince the more resistance you will face from customers...

Have personal stories, education, hints and tips, answer FAQ's. If you do this with personality, excellent english and well written entertaining copy (without being cheesy)... Then eventually over 20-30-40-50 emails, they will buy from you.

Whether you have enough content to make upto 50 emails is another question, but try and make as many high quality mails as you can.

I dont think cracking shitty jokes and urging me to buy the same $20 over and over again consectively for 10 emails is the way to go (again just my opinion)... In this model, I would rather give you 10 high quality emails, teaching you a tip (briefly) in each email and tell them/the reader I got this one tip and many others from this Product, and that there are another 100 tips in this product for just $20.

Mike: with your "No Nonsense Muscle Building" I would do what I just mentioned above & put some testimonials and before/after images if you have good email marketing software like MC.... How many emails have you written so far?

Im not discrediting people who use "Ben Settle's" emailing model or any other similar to his, I just stated what I have found in my results along with my personal tastes.

    I hope it helps

    Regards

    Sam

First of all, I have to agree with davedemille: 40% open rate of the first mail is pretty low.

Second, your open rates will also depend on the traffic. If its "low quality solo ads traffic", the open rates will be pretty bad (at least my experience).

Also, they depend on the relationship that you have with your list and the quality you´re delivering (including the quality of the free report). If they get the report and don´t see that value they´re expecting, chances are they won't be very interested in the emails you´re going to send them.

What you could try to increase your open rates is "tease" you list a bit. For example, in the very first email (the one with 40% open rates) you could tell them what you´ll be sending them in the future mails (it should be interesting to them and of value) and when you´re going to send those mails. Say to them to "stay tuned".

Here is the welcome email I got from Jeff Johnson, a "super affiliate" that you can swipe. Pay attention at how he is "pre-selling" the future emails:

Hey Stawrew. Nice vid and thanks for sharing.

      Just a quick question....

During my emails I need to educate and build authority so I have longer emails. They are still personal and have personality in them so they are very well written and have links accordingly, however I focus a lot on high quality content.

I keep hearing that shorter emails are better, but then some say longer emails are better?... I noticed that MMO emails tend to follow the short email model, but my subscribers joined my list because they want to learn a specific practical skill.

Im educating a lot in my emails and my reasons for doing so are stated in the previous post...any thoughts??

      Regards

If you send these many emails at one time, they will all be dumped into Spam. You need to know mass emailing guidelines before sending mass emails.

The subject line matters a lot when it comes to open rates of emails. I think you need to work on your email's subject line.

Trust, build unshakable trust with your people and they'll latch on to every word.

You don't do that by pitching all day, you do that with value. "Oh yeah, everyone says that"

yeah, I know... what does that even mean.

It means after the numbers are sorted out with predictions and jibber jabber, you've got to think about how they feel.

I'm not sure how you're introducing yourself to them, or if you know your prospects pain points of why they signed up.

If you think it's because of the freebie you are offering, you're in for a ride. It's because they are in desperate need to get rid of an inner pain. Insecurity, embarrassment, and much more.

When you can indoctrinate yourself, and feel their pain then you can ramp up then numbers and scale.

its up to you to drink to coolaid the wso guys peddle, or to find a real bidness underneath the offer.

Like others have said, they have seen it all. Why should they care what you have to say?

"Because you know exactly how they feel, when they feel it and why they're in that situation" that should be the answer....

    Hey Mike Fareez,

Yeah, I agree with the others. I think you're emailing a bit too frequently. If you try emailing your audience 1-2 times per week, on the same day and time I think you would have a lot more success.

    Just a thought

    Hello MikeFareez

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from low open rates.

Maybe the tips I'm about to share with you will increase your open rates significantly.

You see, the reason why your open rates have dwindled over time is due to lack of interest in your emails. This is due to several factors such as the title, the time you sent the emails out, and general interest in your follow up series.

I have outlined some tips you can implement today and start seeing an improvement in your email open rates.

Tip #1 - Keep your emails congruent

Make sure your email messages are what your customers are expecting. If they signed up for marketing tips, don't start sending them offers for the latest diet, no matter how good it is. Sure, this is an extreme example but you get the idea. Stay on topic with both the free content you send them and an offers you mail about. Remember congruency is key.

Tip #2 - Have an eye catching subject line

What makes me decide if I'm going to open an email or not is the subject line. When I craft a message to my list, I spent more time writing the subject line than the whole rest of the email. Yes, it's that important. Use all your mad copy writing skills here and keep a swipe file of good subject lines you've seen in your own inbox. Hint: An email entitled "just curious" gets massive open rates. As well as "hey did you see this?"

    Tip #3 - Don't neglect your list

You've put a lot of effort into building your list. Don't allow it to go stale. Send them some fresh content, a quick tip, a pdf or even just a link to something interesting on your blog. Don't go for more than 2 weeks without emailing your list. Ideally you want to make sure you email them something at least once a week. Otherwise, they'll forget about you and all the rapport you've build with them so far will go out the window.

Tip #4 - Be sure to brand yourself or your company

Make it easy to recognize that the email is coming from you. You can do this by including your website name in the "From" email field. Another thing I like to do is choose a short acronym for your list, website or business. For example, if you have a blog called Article Writing Tips, you could start the subject line of each email with [AWT].

Tip #5 - Create positive anticipation

I learned this particular tip from TV. Think about the end of your favorite TV show... what get's you all excited about the next episode? The preview, especially if the messages are a bit cryptic and raise curiosity. Do the same thing with your list by hinting at what's coming and asking them to "keep an eye out" for an important email from you at a specified date and time, that way they will be actively looking out for an email from you.

I hope you found this helpful.

The biggest factors are probably your deliverability and how many of your emails land in your subscribers inbox. Another thing you have to look at is your subject lines. My biggest tip for that is to use curiosity. Get them excited and interested to click on your email and see what's up.

You can also leave cliff hangers in each email teasing them about what you're going to share in your next email.
