Hi,
what is a good "open rate" for content and promotional emails sent to a subscriber list? Is there anything that can be done to increase the open rates? thanx

People have different opinions and experiences.

It seems that the closer people are to being a "guru", the lower the open-rate they find acceptable (which must say something, though I haven't quite worked out what, yet): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8661178

Yes - lots and lots and lots of things.

Nearly all of them are directly or indirectly related to the two basic, underlying ideas of "continuity" and/or "subscriber expectations".

When I was starting off building and growing my business, the single biggest factor that made a difference to my long-term open-rates was exactly what I gave people in exchange for their email addresses, and specifically the extent to which it satisfied all the parameters described here.

I think the main point of any email list is to make money. I may be wrong. But people try to jump in on the cash to quickly. Here's how I get good open rates.

When they sign up, you give them what you promised and then some more. Make sure it's quality. Also let them know you're going to be sending them more emails.

I then have an immaculate one week series that's been designed to give immense vaule, and this trains them to open the emails. I make sure that in that first week, the product I promoted is good. If they buy it and its shite, they wont buy from you again...

Then, after the week is up, I just send broadcasts. Mixing affiliate offers and more vaule. It's easy to exclude these boadcasts from the guys still in the first week of your list.

Good information there but I like to add something which works for me.

And that is asking your list questions, interact with them so they get more engaged. By doing so and of course make sure you reply to all emails... You will show your subscribers that you are a real person and not just another marketer.

    30%+ Open rate is fine.
Your emails title play a good rule to increase your open rates! People will open an email which is seems more valuable!
Also As I think open rates in Buyers list is higher than in a regular list!
