    Hands down IMO it's Debut Video Capture and VideoPad Video Editor by NCH software (nchsoftware.com). Their technology seamlessly produces YouTube quality output as well as other industry standard formats. Although not free, there is a free trial period of 30 days for evaluation.

    Check out BB Flashback Express from Blueberry Software. (Yes, it is free.)

    It works very well, and once you start having success you can upgrade to their Pro or Standard version and get more features.

    I have used their products for about 4 years with good success.
