Your experience with SamCart?

I will soon start to monetize my blog, and I'm thinking about which shopping cart and payment processor to use. I don't need a big system for the beginning.

SamCart looks amazing though. They will double their price on Friday, and as they are an ongoing service, I'm considering jumping on board before they become double as expensive. But as I'm just starting out monetizing, I'm wondering if I really need them.

Do you have any experience with SamCart? Which shopping cart do you use? Does SamCart really boost conversions on the checkout page that much? Should I just go with PayPal as a shopping cart as well as payment processor? Thanks for your help!

If you're starting out, use the free Zaxaa platform. It has everything you need and then some.

    Not if you're starting out.

I don't have experience with SamCart. I recommend Zaxaa for everyone starting out. Paypal by itself is fine, but product delivery involves sending people to a single, wide-open Thank You page that anyone can share. Zaxaa solves that problem in return for a small per-transaction fee (and no monthly fees).

As usual, Jesus is correct. Start simple and keep the overhead down. Your choice is also really dependent on what you're selling. Single digital downloads, memberships, and subscriptions, or physical goods and a shopping cart? A combination of any and whether or not you're looking to add an affiliate program.

I know this thread is a few months old now, but I'd also highly recommend GetThrivecart as a shopping cart. It's currently in private beta, offering new accounts a one-time price (no recurring monthly or annual fee).

Just thought I'd throw that in.

Thanks! It's actually called "Thrivecart", though.
      Official site is here: https://thrivecart.com/

"GetThrivecart" is not the name and the only reference to that name is an affiliate site.

If anyone has ever had an account with Samcart in the past that had payment information that is still current, delete that information and check if there have been any charges from them since you closed your account. They are refusing to refund me nearly $2000 in fraudulent charges that occurred after I canceled my account, even though by their own admission they have no documentation showing that I approved the new charges or was even aware of the account.

A short investigation has revealed that there are several other people who have had similar problems with getting charged after cancellation and being unable to get refunded. I am currently building a public case against them, so please email me (livefreeretiree@gmail.com) if someone you know has been defrauded by Samcart.com
