In fact it's the complete opposite. I was very pleasantly surprised on the frequency of updates Brian (the owner) makes. He's also always been quick to respond to any questions I have. In the year that I've had bookmarking demon it went from version 3 to 4 and now recently to version 5 and all of them have been major updates. In between there have been dozens of little updates and bug fixes. Google bookmarking demon and check their sales page, search for the text "Take a look at all the free updates we have done" (or search for 'updates' on the sales page) and see for your self. What's best he's right now also doing polls to all the users to find out what they want, the question right now is whether or not to implement an automatic captcha reader/buster or whatever they're called. Either way, I'm a huge fan of Bookmarking Demon and I've tried every single other tool out there, desktop software, php scripts, wordpress plugins, you name it. That being said though, Howie's tool is not bad but I just don't like the fact that it's hosted app. A hardcore user will want a few dozen accounts on each bookmarking site. Creating these all from the same IP, let alone on a shared ip (where howie's app is hosted) is asking to get all your accounts banned in no-time. Bookmarking demon has excellent support for proxy service. But BMD goes deeper. One of the things I like most is the ability to mix in RSS feeds into your own bookmarking url list. This way, you're not going to get flagged as a self-promoter. Maybe every-day users won't run into such issues or risks rather but if you're a pretty hardcore user, you'll want advanced features like that. So I guess my bottomline is a lot of tools will do just fine for the average user but if you want serious power, flexibility, and frequent updates, then go with Bookmarking Demon. Oh btw, the BMD User Guide is excellent and thorough too! | |
