As for the cost of service, and how we make money... the site isn't expensive to run because we automated nearly everything we could, and technology has reduced the cost of running a site like this. We've been open for almost a year and a half now, and we're not going anywhere... maybe once we hit 2 years, or 3, people will finally start believing me. -Gary Ambrose List Wire

I gave Listwire a go and tested it on a dummy site that I have. I opted in an went to the 'Confirm' link in my email. From then I didn't like the user experience as they're hit with opt-ins to other lists and upsells. If you're okay with your subscribers being met with that then crack on but I Will be deleting my account with them. |

Yes, I had a play with Listwire... Initially it looked good, but then I found I was sending all my subscribers to one of Mike Filsaimes websites... Now we know how it gets paid for! Plus the whole process that allowed subscribers to end up on your thankyou page before they had to jump hoops after clicking on the confirmation link would make it very confusing for most. I've probably just confused everyone trying to explain it ![]() So "Free" in IM Land always has some cost associated with it. Cheers Tim |

I was convinced after reading all posts following the OP till I read the last two posts. I'm waiting to see what Mr. Gary Ambrose has to say about what said in last two posts. Though I still think, ListWire is a good choice for novice marketers, who don't have enough funds for Paid AR. I'm thinking about giving it a try for a new project of mine. Regards Nazbir |

Basically, we get one shot to make a little money... then you can mail to your subscriber to free, for life. If that's not a deal you're willing to accept, that's fine... we know we're not for everyone. Quote:
When someone subscribes, they're shown a page asking them to confirm their subscription... then, there's a link on that page, and you control where people go when clicking on that link. That's called the "After-Subscribe" link. After someone confirms their subscription, they'd be taken to another location. This would be the "After Confirm" link. Again, you're in control of this... And perhaps more important in this whole discussion... you shouldn't be taking new subscribers straight to a thank you page after confirmation anyway. You should ALWAYS want them to have to go back to their inbox, and click a link to get to your freebie. Now you might be saying... that's another hoop they'd have to jump through... why would I do that? Well, it has to do with email delivery, and user engagement. You want your subscribers used to looking for emails from you. And with each email they open from you, and each link in those emails that they click, your engagement level goes up, which plays a significant role in email delivery rates... and yes, this is important regardless of who you're using as your provider. And finally.. "Free" always has a cost associated with it in EVERY land, not just in "IM land". And we think the "cost" is MORE than fair... If you don't think that's the case... there are plenty of paid services out there who I'm sure would be more than happy to take your business. -Gary Ambrose List Wire
