2010 Thirty Day Challenge

I haven't heard much about this year's program, so I went the the 30DC blog to learn more.

From what I understand, some interesting changes will take place. The new program will start on July 1st, and will only be 7 days long. And each lesson will take on 30 minutes to complete.

This sounds pretty interesting to me.

Any thoughts?

I've heard this mentioned before but never bothered to check it out - do you have a link? If I try to google "30 day challenge" I'm bound to get billions of them for every topic under the sun.

        Hi Wendy,

It took me a bit to find this info too. Here's the link to the post I read about this year's challenge.

Thanks! Looks interesting - I would love to sign up but can't for the life of me find a single opt-in box anywhere on the main site or blog. Usually I have to beat them off with a stick... :p

I also would like to sign up for the 2010 Thirty Day Challenge, but can't find out where this is.

Could someone please provide a link where the sign up is for this new challenge.

Glad I'm not the only one not seeing it - I thought I must be blind or something! Maybe they took it down to reorganize or something, if I find it I'll post it here for you!

I just checked it out and it is longer than 7 days... it's 7 days of learning and then 7 days off and then 7 days of learning, 7 days off etc. for i believe 7 sessions.

I'm definitely doing this. I love that it's free. I've read lots of people's positive comments and i'm shocked it's free... a no-brainer to at least check it out.
    Thanks for mentioning it

So, instead of being called the 30 day challenge it's now going to be called:

The 7 day challenge... no it's not... yes it is... no it's not.... yes it is... etc.

Ed Dale studied what worked and not worked in the last 30DC, in his opinion and, in a nutshell, he reduced the timeframe because of his feedback of how the last group of students "learned." I guess many of the people who followed the day to day 30 day course was "too intense" for many. Amazing guy (Ed Dale) for paying attention to just how the peeps were learning and in what capacity. Kudos to him.

I, for one, will sign up for the July 1 start date. I'm on his email list. He hasn't revealed the signup page yet.

          Hi Guys,

I found this video Ed made about a week ago on the The Challenge 2010.

Still couldn't find the opt-in, although he mentions it in the video, which is kind of confusing. I guess we still have to wait.

            Hello Skyward,

Maybe you can try this one Thirty Day Challenge
I think you can register there...

I'm also joining the challenge & I think it'll start on July 01,2010..
You can also start reviewing the materials/videos they used from the last
Challenge(2009), that's what I did. You can actually use those materials
to start individually & sharpen up your saw before the actual challenge
            commence...

            Cheers,

30DC is good, but just be prepared to filter some of the plugs on ed dale will include throughout. There are a lot of plugs for consistently rubbish software that I bet he then takes a large cut from. Market Samurai was the exception here, as it is awesome and probably owes a lot of its success to the 30dc.

Wordpress direct was plugged in 08 and traffic bug in 09 - both absolutely rubbish. But since he is selling to mostly newbies, I'm sure he does very well from it.

On a positive, the site I built from my original 30dc (which got me started) has earned probably 300 dollars in just over a year. Over that time its not so impressive, but that was my first ever effort.

To be fair to Ed, nine times out of ten he will either tell you that something is an affiliate link or he will go one better and give you an affiliate link as well as a direct link. I've always found him very open like that.

The course might be free but peoples time isn't. Its a fair question to ask if anyone made money, after all, thats what we are here for.

Yes, but if you haven't made a dime online, then how you value your time is not like someone who is established.

The 30DC is, like other IM "products", a way to learn the in's and out's of IM. In order to know whether or not it works, it must be tried and applied, consistently, with effort, which takes time.

The very fact that it's free means the only real risk is time. But if you aren't making money anyway, then why not go for it?

Your other options is to pay for it, or try to dig through the forums like the WF and that CAN, in theory, take MORE time.

So, I believe asking the question "who made money with it" is silly, especially with a low risk of entry.

Well, thats a clear point to make then. If its setup for complete newbies and is not intended to make money but to teach people the ins and outs then thats fair enough.

Personally, even if I was a newbie I would still want to clearly know what benefit I would be getting before commiting myself to something for 30 days, regardless of the cost of training.

I think the 30 day challenge provides excellent information and HOW TO. BUT, I also believe a newb will get more IF he/she is able to start generating income during that 30 days. It is very good info, however, it may be too much and could lead to overload.

I think, from the way I understand it, the NEW format will be more helpful, but still, there is nothing like making money as you are learning, it provides better motivation.

Yea, 30 days of excellent FREE training is rather daunting, isn't it?

It's pretty good training, but in the end remember that it is a sales campaign for their paid program. I tried TrafficBug on their "recommendation" and I was thoroughly unimpressed with the results. If you're a newb go for it, if you aren't just keep making things happen you don't need a "course".

I did the 30DC 3 years ago and learned a lot. The challenge is to make money within 30 days using the methods taught. My top blog for traffic and earnings is one built while doing the challenge so I must have learned something. I may do it again this year just to see what they've come up with anything different.

While I see your point I also wish there was still the option to do this in 30 days.

While last year some people fell behind and gave up, this year I wonder if some will get frustrated at the slowness of it. Personally I don't want to wait 98 days - i was really looking forward to working hard and completing this in 30.

Having said that, I'm thinking that I can use the "7 days off" to do everything again - essentially creating 2 or more sites during the course. ...just a thought from a keener

For those talking about making money, I did not yet.

I really tried to finish the entire 30 day challenge, which ended up taking me over 50 days.

As a relative 'newbie' to internet marketing, I have a few goals ahead of making money. For instance, up until a few months ago I did not know how to get ranked in search engines with any kind of precision at all.

I was able to do this with Ed's program, however have not really gotten a lot of traffic nor made any money.

However, I still view this as a success because I have never been able to do this before.

I think a lot of internet marketing success comes down to persistence. Deep down I honestly feel that if I tried to follow the steps 4-5 times with news sites I am absolutely confident I would make progress towards making money.

That is what I intend to do, try it again applying what I've learnt.

No, I might not have made money yet but it has got me more results than anything else I've done thus far, and I believe has moved me closer to making money. You have to crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run.

It is the journey not the goal that is important. Start by thinking of problems you can help people with, then find those people and offer your solution. Best not to think in terms of $ but in how you can help someone overcome a problem. If you just go for the money without the passion, you won't get far. And I always learn something new and have made money with what Ed teaches. Take the time, don't rush. Understand THEN implement. Know the why of a process, because then you can modify it to meet your needs. And then you will succeed.

I'm a full-time marketer and have been for several years. But I'll be doing the Challenge yet again this year. IM changes all the time and this is the easiest way of keeping on top of it.

It's true that Traffic Bug was a real let down last year - but at least we found that out for free during the 30 day trial that Ed arranged for us.

At a time when two thousand dollar courses are becoming the norm, it's amazing to get this quality of training for free.

just started the 30 day challenge or just 'THE CHALLENGE'. I'm always up for training especially free. The challenge is being streamed on Ustream under "challenge dot co/tv/" Ed said that over 5 years 35,000 people have gone thru the training but he's redesigned the program due to traffic issues that are more difficult & says that no one can stick to anything for more than 7 days?

So he's broken it down to 30 minute training for 7 days and then 7 days off for implementation and extra training during off weeks like motivational training for 7 weeks. So thats a 98 day commitment. It's also ipad and iphone compatible and tapatalk integration for forum. Twitter handles to follow @Ed_Dale, @gurubob and @challenge to remain updated.
