Warriors,

Avoid, avoid, avoid...

Turns out the developers over at Link-Assistant.com/RankTracker, royally are putting the hose up existing customer's asses. Disabling software that hundreds of people have already paid hundreds of dollars for, and essentially FORCING them into a monthly continuity program for HUNDREDS of dollars more in order for the program to even work.

There's a huge thread about it here:
SEO Software Talk • View topic - RankTracker usable without the LivePlan?

The reasoning is nothing more than a farce and a 'screw-you existing-customers' attitude.

Despite repeated attempts by dozens of paid-customers to try to reason with these people, they've basically given everyone the jelly FINGER.

This is flat out WRONG. And I don't want anyone to fall into the trap of BUYING their products now, and them changing the rules on you in the future like they've done with us.

Their original sales bullshit copy (which they have since removed) said...

"As our customer, you are eligible for FREE bug fixes for life, a 6 months subscription to the Rank Tracker Professional Live! Plan, plus FREE Customer Support Service to answer any Rank Tracker-related request you might have.

We're constantly improving Rank Tracker by listening to our users' suggestions and putting them all into the new release roughly every 2-3 months. All these goodies will be yours for free, for ever!*

The developers have replied to dozens of pissed off customers, basically saying...

"You know, we are always stating there is a subscription and we have been stating so since we started selling the software. Every purchase page has a mentioning of Live! Plans and every purchase email mentions it right at the beginning. It was so with the old website as well, you can check it at web.archive.org . We understand the mixed feelings of the customers that did not notice the subscription mentioning, but subjective judgment is really as far as the whole dispute can go."

Let me ask you something Warriors: Would you treat your existing customers this way?

You make a change in your business model, adding continuity... fine. I have no problem with that.

But to say your current customers who have already PAID hundreds of dollars for your software, that it no longer works... and give them this BS message in the program...

"Sorry, collecting Search Engine data is impossible because your software is not up to date with search engine algorithms."

... and then to tell you to PAY MORE MONEY to "activate it to continue working"... what kind of crap is that?

A trial program? Sure. But a paid for piece of software?

This is SHADY business.

Stay FAR away from these people.
