[REVIEW] Namecheap Shared Web Hosting
We haven't done this before on Warrior Forum so I'm not too sure if the thread belongs here. I've seen a couple times on various WF thread people asking about shared hosting and specifically as well about namecheap web hosting (they released this product skewe fairly recently about a year or two ago).
We got their web hosting when they were running a promotion during their service introduction (it was only a free month hosting) though have been hosting with them for several months since then; I believe I can give a conclusive opinion about Namecheap Shared web hosting.
There are three main things you look for when trying to find a web host for you (1) Service - This is IMPORTANT. You want a web hosting company that can help you efficiently and quickly. (2) Server - You want something that as a sufficient capability to support what you need in terms of speed/performance and disk space (3) Price or Reputation: they aren't really related though they are both important. You want a web hosting provider that has a track record to help customers consistently and not a one off experience and you want a shared web hosting provider that is competitively priced...keeping in mind you don't want to skimp on your web hosting + prices are already very low with competition.
How does Namecheap shared web hosting fair on all these accounts?
(1) Service => 10/10 Impeccable so far! The reason for this review actually was recently we had an issue with one of our WordPress plugin that cause our website to be down. Most shared web hosting companies as I know (even premium ones like MDDHosting) will NOT help with WordPress and third-party applications.
To my pleasant surprise upon submitting a support ticket, I had a support personnel addressing the situation in a under 3-4 hours! The situation was promptly resolved and the plug-in removed so we could log-in again (WP secure was causing the issues)
I have had few other bump in with namecheap support though all of them have been overall helpful and capable.
(2) Performance => 9/10 Haven't noticed any down time. Very reliable server performance, steady and solid! Actually we really like it for the value and the consistency! The sites are loading well and especially fast considering they are WordPress sites loaded with quite a few plug-ins.
(3) Reputation & Price => 10/10 Namecheap is very competitively priced. You can expect to spend around $5-$10 for a typical shared web hosting (roughing usually around $10). We're on a starter package that's a great value for the service and performance Namecheap has been providing.
With our extensive experience using Namecheap shared web hosting I can say the reputation is very good especially being backed by the namecheap brand which as many of you know is one of the preferred domain registrars for their support (and not up-selling you at every corner you turn!)
Namecheap hosting solutions only released a year or two ago though I don't have any concern hosting with namecheap because of their long standing reputation. One of the major concerns with finding a good webhosting is looking for a host that has been around for some time so they won't pack up and go with all your data out of no where. (always keep backups!)
Anyways, this concludes our lengthy Namecheap Shared webhosting review. Please feel free to ask any questions. (We're also using CrocWeb and will likely post a review about them shortly)
