Roanoake is about 4 hours or so (depending on how fast you drive) from Charlotte, so that may be a bit far...

If you were going to be somewhere closer we could maybe meet in the middle. For now, we're going to set up a call on Skype so let us know if you'd like to join in.

Just found this. I'm from Raleigh but may be moving to Charlotte in the near future. (Depending on a job offer) I would be open to Skype or in person but I'm a restaurant mgr. so I prob. have vastly different hours than the rest of y'all. hope we can all work something out.

I am in upstate South Carolina, about an hour and a half from Charlotte. I have set things like this up before. Get three people who guarantee they will be there at a set time, post it, and stick to it. Let the people coming in later adjust their schedules. It'll grow if you set a schedule, promote it and get anything done at it.

I am in Alexander County (Taylorsville - west of Statesville, north of Hickory).

Skype is iffy for me as I can't seem to find a decent headphone for it ... or it could be my computer. Don't know.

Would rather do a meet-up in person. Be a nice change from chit-chatting with folks on the computer and phone - I do that all day with my job as it is LOL.

Seems most of us are east of Charlotte or in SC .... very few online here in the Foothills. I'm so alone!

I'm snowed next week due to a deadline at work next Friday, but then things open up a bit (hopefully) after that.

I am in Charlotte and would love to attend a live event with all of you grand folks..I am sure I could learn a thing or two from each of you..

Jack would you be willing to be a keynote speaker? seeing that you are a Advanced Warrior, I bet you have some amazing stories and advice to newbie's like myself.

  I just attended a meetup meeting last Thursday in Raleigh and really liked it. About 20 fellow IMers gathered 'round discussing various activities. The main presentation was on outsourcing and was very good. If you're near Raleigh check out Raleigh Internet Marketing Mastermind Group.
  
  There's another topic open with folks near Wilmington, but I've been on the Warrior's forum for over 2 years and it always seems to be a bit of a stretch to get folks together in person to network.

  However, I'm am putting on the second annual Warrior's forum networking event this coming October - see the link in my Sig for details. Sorry Raleigh is too far. Would people be willing to make a donation to the Dave Thomas Foundation for a webex - I could fire up a series of webex sessions and send the links out - and tie it to the pc we'll be running the projector from - and maybe do a conference call.

There are several problems with this:

1) The quality would suck just to be honest.
2) The webex I have for my day job does not have a toll free option - so unless you have VOIP, there would be long distance charges.
3) I could not provide any tech support - if the audio/video is bad there's nothing I could do about it.

That's why I passed on trying to stream the event live. But for a small donation would people put up with this?

My gut feeling is not;

But if enough folks are interested I could set this up pretty quickly.

  I would be interest in a meetup of some sort. I live about 30 minutes from Charlotte. My schedule is crazy right now since I work full time and have a family whom I enjoy spending a lot of time quality time with but this is a good idea. Ok, we are going to try to get this Charlotte group started. We have a couple of decisions to make that I would like to get feedback on.
Choices:
1. On site or by Skype meeting - We have a restaurant that would be glad to let us use their facility (thanks for finding this Steve-WalterBoom). They have a very large meeting room. They don't require us to eat there and use of the meeting room is free. Light Rail Family Restaurant 8045 South Blvd Charlotte, NC Light Rail Restaurant
2. Day or evening meeting
3. Dates: Aug 23rd Tuesday, Aug 30th Tuesday or Aug. 20th Saturday
4. Time?

Here's what's happending in NC now folks - the 3rd annuaul Warrior forum meet up. But this time we'll have it oneline. Here's the plan so far - but I'm doing a stealth launch down here in this forum before going hard core.

I'm gathering together potential speakers and moderations at this time to fill out the agenda. there will be 2 main webinar rooms: one for beginners, and one for intermediate folks. You sign up for the event and choose whice track you want to attend. Dont' worry - you cna move back and forth . Plus we'll be recording everything so you'll have access to those parts you missed when nature called.

plus all those recording will be made available for paid in full atteedees. Others will get them - in a membership service dropping 2 sessions a month.

So save the date - Feb 26 2011 : 3rd Annual Warrior Forum Event. Online!!!!

hint - doensn't have to be totatlly online does it? I figure folks all over the world could set up a big table, crank up the TV and plug the computer/mike,cam into it and sit around and watch it together - or do the same at a hotel. A nice hotel suite should hold 5-10 folks well. Think outside the box....

we'll more details as we think of then - he its just starting - so any requests/feedback/suggestions are great appreciated!
