Hi guys

I am trying to make some money doing affiliate marketing. I have just managed to get my first product together and am about to launch that so fingers crossed. With the affiliate stuff Im following the howie schwartz school of affiliate marketing which teaches how to promote on amazon using things like hubpages squidoo, wetpaint. As well as using a lot of book marking I have chosen keywords with around 20,000 to 40,000 a month with low competition around a few hundred when I put them in speech marks in google. Promoting amazon products seems like a short term business plan plus the commissions are only about 6% thats why I have chosen more expensive products. I would like to find niches that I can create a long term sustainable business out of like mortgages, weightloss, insurance, etc, How are people promoting these areas?
It seems like there are too many people promoting click bank products. After the frustrations of creating my own products I really want to do find some long term affiliate niches Does anyone know the best affiliate programs ?

any further advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks Robert

Hi Robert, sounds like you are learning a fare bit, which is great! I agree that Amazon is not a great long term approach, and starting with your own product can also be rather tough!

As far as affiliate marketing on Clickbank goes, yes there are a lot of affiliates, but you can still make good money, as a lot are not serious marketers anyway, so don't let this put you off.

There is no quick answer to give you on 'the best' niches as they are what you make of them, but you may want to aim for ones that lean toward email marketing (i.e repeat sales over time to the same customer) and pay out at least $30 a sale and have a gravity of say 70+.

Just keep in mind if you don't win on your first affiliate product, its perfectly normal and you will have learned some valuable lessons and skills.

    all the best!

    Hey Robert,

    My advice is:

    1. Invest in your education

    2. Take massive action on what you learn

As for products, I advise that you start with clickbank when you are beginning. Making money with Amazon is possible, but... I advise that you start with clickbank, and once you find a profitable niche, create your own product.

    All the best,
    Franck

There is no such thing as the 'best' affliate programs.

Some will work for you and others won't. I've found that much of IM is about testing. And you'll do some failing as well along the way. The expression I've come to accept is to fail faster.

I would agree with learn to accept failure faster...actually you just found another way that didn't work yet...
Creating your own products is a good long term plan, put together some good affiliate tools and get the affiliates to sell for you. good luck with it!
