Default Newsletter single opt-in program suggestions?

Hello all,

My first post here and while I don't have time to make a formal introduction, rest assured I will soon. In the meantime I was wondering what kinds of options there are out there for single opt-in subscription newsletter programs. I am pretty unfamiliar with this territory, as I'm used to using drupal and managing this through a plugin but my client uses wordpress.

He wants to be able to manage a subscription list and is looking for a new program besides aweber that is single opt-in and of course, cheap as possible. His primary website is a wordpress site. Does anyone use a plugin for wordpress to manage this kind of thing? What is everyone using?

I apologize if this is asked ad nauseam. I did a few searches and surprisingly came up with very little.

Thanks in advance,
eclypz

Okay so I don't want to bump but I'm doing more research so I figure if it's meaningful then it's ok to add to this post.

So I found sendblaster ($150 US for a license) and it has a free plugin to use in Wordpress. Does anyone use this? Like I said, I've never needed anything like this before so I'm not sure where to even begin. Most of my email lists would come from discussion forums that managed their own lists and I could email them from within the admin panel.

Can anyone help me out here?

I'll just try one more time here. What's everyone's solution to bulk email needs?

hehe, found my own post while searching google for a solution to this problem. Is there something I'm missing? Is this a dull subject or do I need to write in long sales form to get people's suggestions?

I've been looking at the same thing and so far Sendblaster is top of the list.

You can download a free trial - do that and try it out and see if you like it.

I like that it can be run off my computer and it's a one-time cost, rather than subscription (like aweber).

Still evaluating, however, so no real experience.

Many autoresponder software comes with single opt-in option. You can import subscribers and send emails to. Just google it for 'single opt in autoresponder'.

But the disadvantage of this single opt-in is your subscribers won't really confirm his interest to receive email. Also anybody can enter anbody's email so this is not much advisable.
