What you're trying to do is possible, but you may run into some unique issues with regard to the mobile device.

Just as different browsers (i.e. on your desktop/laptop) have totally separate cookie environments, the different browsers in a mobile device will also track cookies separately.

For instance, I haven't specified a default browser in my Android, but have 2 different browsers installed. If I click the affiliate link in your app, I'll be delivered using the native browser. If I purchase then... fine - but affiliate cookies are about "remembering" what affiliate sent me there, so that if I purchase later the affiliate still gets credit.

That should work fine, as long as when I go back to Amazon to buy, I use the same browser, on the same device.

    >>> If I use my Chrome browser when I go back to buy... there is no affiliate cookie. <<<

Note -The same holds true if I purchase using a totally separate device (i.e. I don't actually purchase until I sit down at my laptop, rather than using my phone.

Amazon is extremely picky about links. I'm pretty sure you need to send traffic from your own domain no matter what, but I could be wrong.

People get banned for sending traffic from third-party sites all the time, so unless you are using an obvious Amazon banner ad in the app, I don't see them approving it.

At the very least, you need to call in and ask an affiliate manager (there's a phone number in the affiliate portal). This is really more a question for Amazon.

No matter what advice you get here in the forum, I would still make the call. It's better to find out it's against the ToS than start it anyway and lose all your earnings.
