Worst Pieces of Advice that New Entrepreneurs Receive

I recently read an article that mentioned about 5 Worst Pieces of Advice that New Entrepreneurs Receive. I have seen so many people advising the same thing to newbies. Rarely people give honest advice. Do you guys agree with the below mentioned points?

I'm sure you might have noticed such advices on most Internet Marketing Forums.
  • Offer services/products for a lesser price compared to your competition
  • Try to copy from your competitors
  • Work hard and you will soon see success
  • Quit your day job to give 100% to your business
  • Be passionate about what do you and everything will fall in place.

What do you think?

Use your brain. Figure things out. Don't rely on advice in public forums as you don't know what you're getting. Don't believe everything you read in articles by supposed experts.

Don't dwell on the negatives. Get to work and make some money.

i see people mention this concept a lot. whats pretty interesting is that it usually is not true in the real world. in fact, this picture is a pretty good summary of the "hope" many sales letters sell rather than "sell" any tangible advice.

when you get people to "buy into" this sort of idea, you keep them hooked just a little longer. that means for many at a place like WF the sellers get to make just a couple more sales if they can just keep people believing they have almost figured out the all the secrets they need to know to make a living online.

in the real world, most people give up when they are still miles and miles from the payoff point.

I just love to hear someone like a Suze Orman go around telling people to pinch, scrape, save, and do without while shes wearing her designer outfits paid for with the millions she makes by creating her own Books and selling it to these same people

Oh come on, this is just an example of a more intelligent person taking advantage of the less intelligent ones.

Worst piece of advice: TAKE ACTION.

Here's how I got the BEST piece of advice:

Once I said to my friend: "I think I'm struggling financially, I cannot afford many of the basics. I may need to start saving money."

On which he replied: "You shouldn't save money. You should make more."

For better or worse, that stuck with me forever.

Define work hard and success. Workers break their back working hard from 9 to 5 and why aren't they successful (financially sound)?

And who is going to pay the bill?
    Practice good time management.
Learn how to Focus on what you are suppose to be doing, remove distraction as much as you could.

I agree with be passionate about what you do. But everything will fall in place is misleading, because nothing fall in place like you want. You can make beautiful plan, but your plan will never work, nothing will go according to the plan.

  • Yes, I think those five pieces of advice are really bad and aren't at all actually for "new entrepreneurs", based on my definition of an "entrepreneur" (new and seasoned). Here's why:

I consider an "entrepreneur", either a new one or a veteran, as someone who has unique creativity, significant knowledge, substantial specialized skills and real world experience, at least enough to start with and focus on other more pressing problems as well as decide for themselves for what those five pieces of advice tried to address ...

If you asked me, the key to success whether you are marketing online or even offline is to find out what people want or need and then offer the solution or make recommendations to them.

In shorter and easier to understand term, it is giving value to people.

You give them what they want and they will give you what you want.

Just think about it for a second.

When you are looking at an offer, what is the one thing you are looking for.

Or when you are in need for something or want it badly, what will you be looking for and what drives you to buy?

This is not just what you think but what most people think as well.

    Period.
