Creating a service page for each local village and town

Hi

I'm looking at creating a page for each local town and service I offer. But I am concerned do I need to have unique content on each page. Or can I use the same text just changing the town, village.

I have around 150 places to add (so different content is hard) and around 10-15 services

Sorry if this is a silly question.

Can you be a little more specific?

And my first question would be - why don't you just list your service areas on the main service pages?

The problem you might run into with creating a separate page for each location is duplicate content.

I think it would be better to have one page for each of your services, and then a list of service areas on those pages. Once that's built, simply do unique blog posts, focusing on different locations.

    Just my opinion.

At the moment, I have a page for each service I offer, but nowhere apart from the two nearest towns are mentioned in the page title.

I was looking at creating a page for each local town and large village so Carlisle, Wigton, Dalston, Aspatria, I have a full list around 150 places. To basically say We fix computer is x place - Virus removal, upgrades, laptop screen replacement...... But I would end up with 150 almost the same apart from the place name. I'm guessing this would harm my ranking due to duplicate content.

So would the best idea be a blog post about each place (as suggested above) content will nearly be the same on each post. Or something else I have not thought about. I have seen this idea from another pc firm I know Service Areas | Fresh PCs Consultancy

      Hi Paul,

I'm not familiar with how the UK is set up with cities, towns, etc.

Here in the US, I would set it up by county or tri-state area or even "within X miles of city/county.'

For example, my daughter-in-law has a cleaning service and she'll only go to places within X miles of her home. Here's her service area page:

Business Hours-Service Areas | House Cleaning by Revai

And then her blog posts are in the general topic of cleaning and organizing.

So, if you set up a Service Areas page and then list a handful of general areas saying 'We service X kilometers within these areas,' you would only need one page for the areas you service.

Then your blog posts can be about general topics of what you do in your business, tips for customers, tips for do-it-yourself maintenance, etc.

Now, another option is to set up a separate page for each general location, for example:
      pc-services.co.uk/Hereford-Worcestershire/
      pc-services.co.uk/Shropshire/
      pc-services.co.uk/Powys/

      Etc.

And then on each of those separate pages, you can specify that you service X kilometers surrounding that particular area, and list a few areas inside the main location.

So even if the introduction on each page is identical, what avoids the duplicate content is the name of the main location with a list of areas within that location.

You could even write a unique introduction about each location for those pages to make them each a little different. A good way to differentiate the pages would be maybe to put a different client testimonial on each page.
