If you have flexible resources to back up paid traffic, then utilize it. It can really get your Online Business up and running TODAY !!

If not then you can do things like SEO, Article Marketing, and Forum Marketing, that will only cost you Time and Work

    Hi
All traffic are good but knowing how to bring traffic correctly is the issue for many.

    There are 2 types of traffic;
    1- FREE
    2- PAID

Really depends which ones right for you. Lets talk about the FREE traffic first.
I don't really think that the traffic is really FREE, because I am a big believer of TIME is MONEY.
So it called time investment, where you work day in and day out to get free traffic its just that you don't pay for it.

PAID traffic is simple. Its exactly what is says, you pay for targeted traffic. Its quick easy and effective as its targeted. I normally use SOLO ADS

Back to FREE traffic and why many don't know why they don't get traffic.
NUMBER 1 REASON IS THAT THEY JUST DON'T STICK TO IT...

A lot of people try free traffic and jump from one to another and they just don't stick to there strategy.

My advice is to choose 1 or 2 FREE traffic strategy and stick to it. Give value to others and do it on a daily basis and don't give up.

Master it and watch the rain of traffic flow to your website/blog or what ever the page your sending the traffic to.

Try Blog Posting, where you go to other people blog in your niche and communicate and help others and learn at the same time.

Make sure to have your website link signature on the blogs your going in to.
Over time people will get to know you, and want to know more about you so they will eventually hit your signature link to see who you are and what exactly u do.

There are other FREE ways like social media marketing or Pod-Casting or even forum marketing or guest posting

SO CHOOSE ONE OR TWO FREE METHOD AND STICK TO IT AND OVER TIME YOU WILL GET THE TRAFFIC.
DO NOT JUMP FROM ONE TO ANOTHER AND JUST MASTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE.

As Discrat said, try out paid traffic if you have the funds. Start small and test.

For paid traffic, I would recommend solo ads (but you have to do your due diligence to find good sellers) or having videos created and distributed (find good sellers with lots of positive feedback on Fiverr).

If you don`t have the funds yet, then go for free traffic by creating videos, posting them on YouTube, DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc. Place free classified ads on Backpage dot com, USfreeAds, ClassifiedAds dot com, AdPost dot com, Oodle(dot)com, OLX dot com, Freeclassifieds (dot) com, etc. with a link to your blog, ask for link exchanges with other blog owners (put his or her blog link on your blog, and they do the same for you).

Also Forum posting, article marketing and SEO as Discrat mentioned. Although I am not much into SEO these days, after the Penguin update slapped me hard back in 2011.

And don`t forget to use social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Pinterest, Google +, StumbleUpon, Reddit, etc. to get free traffic.

I wonder if there is anything like free traffic. Don't you spend time on those free traffic methods too? Doesn't time amount to money?
What you should be asking is which method guarantees long lasting result.
Paid advert dies off once your budget is out unless you are making enough money to continue the promotion.
I will advice you to go get quality backlinks because that's the only way you can get continues traffic from search engines.

      Hi there,

Firstly I would say there is no such thing as free traffic. Your time is money!

For example if you are generating traffic from writing a blog you will no doubt be spending hours thinking of blog posts, titles and then actually typing the blog post.

If you make a video for YouTube, again you have to take your time into consideration as well as the cost of the equipment and or software you may be using. Then you need to spend more of your time optimizing your YouTube channel, title and description for ranking purposes.

Traffic generated from blogs and videos is warmed up, so we are able to get much better conversions because of the know, like, trust factor.

However, you can still get the know, like, trust factor using paid methods such as solo ads, Facebook ads and banner ads etc etc etc.

There will always be an element of risk with the paid method as with all advertising. This traffic is cold, they do not know like or trust you.

You can spend $500 on paid traffic and not make a dollar from that solo run or banner ad or which ever paid method you chose to use. You are still able to bring that ad spend back into profit though, so all is not lost. Patience is important here and following up.

Using a high converting squeeze page on a solo ad run for example you should be able to get a 30 to 40% optin rate and if you have paid for 1000 clicks, you are now looking at 300 to 450 emails on your list.

It is very important that you learn how to develop a relationship with your list and more to the point fresh additions you have now gained because you now have the $500 not only to get back but you are now in a great position to start making profits.

In conclusion to Paid Vs Free Traffic there is no such thing as free, paid done the correct way will bring faster results but no business owner should put all their eggs in 1 basket so you should be using both methods.

Chose 2 methods 1 paid and one I will call it organic not free and master both.

      Good luck

      Ian G. Howarth.

If you know how to do the SEO, forum posting, blog commenting, rss, article submission, Social Media & so on. You can do this kind of work yourself without any charge. If you have no time to do this work, you may need to hire a freelancer to do this work for you or, you need to buy the traffic. So everything is okay for you, you need to choose which way you would like to walk. Thanks a lot.

Free traffic takes time - paid traffic is instant. Free traffic takes investment but once that's been done properly (SEO etc) you can get a wonderful traffic flow without having to worry about paying out lots of money all the time.

Depends on the product though and the market. Tell us more

I'm not going to lie, when I first got started in the internet marketing niche I was obsessed with driving "free" traffic to my capture pages, blogs, videos, etc. These kind of free traffic strategies work, but they rob you of your most important asset which is time!

If you want to save time and accelerate your success in IM come up with a traffic budget and go with paid marketing. If you want to get instant results go with paid marketing. You get the point...

I just want to chime in regarding to free traffic...

Free traffic takes a shit ton of time if you spend all your time on sites likes Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and so forth. If you're just looking to generate some traffic, you're wasting your time trying to build up a following on those sites.

I have paid for traffic before and to be honest I think I have gotten better results from free than paid. Sure, it could've been that I paid for the wrong kind of traffic, but why should I continue to spend money on traffic when I can get it for free with minimal work?

Those that say free traffic takes a lot of time haven't experimented enough with it.

    Free traffic? Absolutely!

    - Forums
    - Blogging
    - Youtube
    - Email marketing
    - Backend marketing
    - Viral ebook marketing
    - Etc

But paid traiffic is just faster and get you results immediately. It allows you to know right away what works and what doesn't, and allows you to develop a good free traffic plan - without spending 5 hours per day surfing online looking for the Holy Grail internet marketing secret.

I believe that Paid traffic will consume not much time and bring you traffic in no time, while free traffic normally is not as targeted as paid traffic and is much slower to get the traffic.

Your opportunity cost is: Time or Money.

So if you prefer to use your time to work in your free traffic, its not really free, because i believe each working hour of your time will have a certain price, lets say $10.00 per hour (cheap) , if you work 10 hours in your free traffic strategy then your effort will cost you $100 per day, so it will cost you $500 per week and $2000 per month.... So with those $2000 you can buy very targeted audience to your offer.

Sometimes people just see the free as FREE but its never free
