Following on from Steve's "You're being given bad advice..." thread

Okay following on from Steve's very useful thread, I'm going to ask a real dumb question.

I have no idea how to take a screenshot from my Clickbank account, either as a still photo or as video as some others do.

Can anyone tell me how to do it and can I do either with any free or existing software.

Thanks

Andrew

The way I would do it is the printscreen function on your keyboard. I believe its shift plus printscreen then go to paint or something and right click paste.

On Windows, all you have to do is hit the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard, and it will copy the screen into the clipboard. Then open your favorite graphics program; if you don't have one, Paint.NET is a good one:

Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing

For screen videos, a lot of people use CamStudio:

CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software

    I've also used Freez Screen:

Free Screen Video Capture - free screen recording software, video screen capture and sound recorder.

For video from an external source, I like to use Blaze Media Pro to capture the video (this is not a free program):

Audio/Video Editing, Converter Software (CD MP3 WAV WMA OGG AVI MPEG WMV etc)

And I do all my actual video editing in Windows Movie Maker. I've also used Premiere, but just haven't gotten around to upgrading in a long time... it's pretty expensive for the limited amount of video I edit.

Personally, I like Jing. It's always there. You can capture only the part of the screen that you want AND you can make videos. And above all else it is very easy and did I mention free!

When faced with a charging bull, the choice is not whether you grab the bull by the horns but whether or not you kiss it on the lips.

Another free one is Screengrab, which is a Firefox add-on. It gives you a choice of what to save, such as the visible portion or a selection.

If you're using Vista, "Snipping Tool" is built into it and works great for screen shots.

I use Jing too. VERY easy to get pictures right, as well as videos. Plus, you can add arrows etc immediately, and upload it to your server.
