What does a redirect software do for affiliates?

Is there a redirect software/plugin that will take links to users of a mobile phone or redirect to users of a desktop depending on what is being used?

There are a few. If using WP, search for redirect links in the plugins > add new search. There are different ways to handle traffic from mobile depending on what the mobile viewer is served. Too may variables so I won't even begin to deal with it in absence of more information.

Simply, the easiest way is to make sure your landing / served pages can detect mobile / desktop viewer and serve the corresponding page with corresponding links to the device.

If you install a plugin that serves pages based on device, then that's all you need.

Redirect scripts tend to be non-discriminatory as to devices. The main purpose of this type of script is to provide a simpler url whose destination is completely manageable and changeable instantly. The main benefit being to keep your urls actively directing traffic to viable offers.
