Please evaluate my re-launch idea

I did a soft launch of a membership site last month with a series of free ebooks. I was able to get like 200 people to sign up for it which is a little lower then I expected (goal was 500)

I'm planning to relaunch next month. What I'm going to do differently is combine all three books into one business plan. The business plan will be a blog post this time around and for people to access it they will have to join my list of course. Once they join the list I will send them a link to the blog post which at this time is 40 pages long all on one page. I feel it would be better to keep it all on point page to people can skim if needed. I also have a few affiliate links across the post. I haven't really heard of anyone doing it like this so I was just curious to see what others thought or how to maximize this plan.

Your plan sounds good, when you say 200 people signed up , do you mean that they actually paid you for your membership? Your success depends on many factors. May I ask you how much are you charging for membership? Is it enough to make affiliates want to promote your offer. For example, if you have a program and you are charging $30 a month, and you are doing a fifty percent commission program, I would be interested in joining to increase my income by an extra $1500 a month. If your membership fee is too low at fifty percent, then affiliates may think it is a waste of time. It really depends on your model, pricing, and remember to over deliver.

    Who's your target market?

What problem are you solving for them?

    What is the price point?

Where are you getting traffic from?

I don't see a "plan" in your OP.

You should also consider combining the 3 ebooks into one new ebooks and selling that too.

Would I ever read a 40 page blog post (all on one page)? Never!

Enticing people to your offer means you are catering to them and their needs/wants/desires. What's in it for me - WIIFM?

You said: "What I'm going to do differently is combine all three books into one business plan."

Do you understand what a business plan is? Three books does not make a business plan, at least under the normal definition of a business plan.

You also stated: "I also have a few affiliate links across the post." Personally, I don't think affiliate links are appropriate for an offer. You're sending a conflicting signal. Do you want the prospect to read through and click on your offer . . . or do you want them to click away to someone else's affiliate product? You shouldn't be doing both.

"I haven't really heard of anyone doing it like this" . . . could it be that there are reasons why?

I would re-evaluate your re-launch strategy. To me at least, I think there are dubious methods here that are going to lead to your further disappointment.

Are you trying to debunk Einstein's relativity? Just do what is proven to work. And a 40 page blog post on 1 page? (smdh.....)

What are you selling. Let's start with this. What is the niche, and what is the product.
