How to survive when You lost only source of income?

Hello, friends, I need some series advice from you.

I am a graphic designer, and I have a particular niche in graphic designing. I started working on fiverr about a year ago and just in one year I began quickly earning 1.5K-2K from fiverr but I made a serious mistake. I totally rely on fiverr and never made another source of income for mine. In that period I got about 1000, 5 Star Reviews from fiverr and I was happy and satisfy but one day I made another big mistake of my life. A buyer on fiverr was demanding Refund unnecessarily, and I deny to do so. They Reported my account and fiver banned my account, I try everything to get back my account but failed.

Now it is a hard time for me, as I never created another source of income and now I am empty handed and don't know what to do. I tried fiverr again by creating another account, but I did not get any success.

Can you suggest the best way for me to make money quickly as I need it immediately to run my bread and butter.

    Read this thread here :
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...desperate.html

Read it from the very beginning to the very end, and if you still have not found a solution, come back and ask your question again.

And... the lesson to be learned is : Never put all your eggs in 1 basket.

I had to learn that lesson the hard way myself, so don`t feel too badly.

Dust yourself off and try again.

Tough break. Bet you wish you gave that refund now huh?

Have you thought about offering your services on Freelancer, Upwork, etc.? Maybe put up a warrior for hire ad, and advertise your services here. Freelance work should help you get started back up or at least replace some of that income.

Open very early in my adult life I always had more than one way to make money. I don't know you are specific situation but when you spend enough time building your skills in different areas those skills become something valuable to others. Some areas you can quickly educate yourself to become viable so if you have any free time whatsoever you should work hard to make yourself more valuable through building your education and skills. There are many websites online that will teach you how to code and design and speak other languages and so much more.

Thank you so much, I have book marked that thread and will read it completely. I learnt some other lesson also:

      1. Never Put all your eggs in 1 basket. (as you said)
      2. Always save some money for your hard time.
      3. Customer is always right.

Thank you so much for your great advice. I am seriously thinking about publishing an ad here on warriorforum.

Set up a graphic design tread here on the Forum. Offer your services very cheap or free to get some quick reviews.

There are several graphic designers doing very well on the forum. You can also sell your services at Elance, Upwork (Odesk), etc. Set up an account on all 3. Make sure you have several examples of your work.

Personally, I think you can make a lot more doing less work.

    Good Luck,

Aww honey that is so sad. I feel so bad for you.

Have you tried contacting fiverr again and asking for a 2nd chance? If you talk to the right person they may agree to a 2nd chance. Write a nice long letter and contact the most important person on the site.

I do agree using another sources like here to list your services. With 1000 reviews you must be awesome.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. But remember to get back up -- everything happens for a reason.

      Sorry to hear that.

Back in the summer of 2003 I lost a list of 125K subscribers and had a domain name banned for 10 years, I was bummed. Life goes on. Sounds like you have talent. I would submit an appeal to Fiverr if they have that option.

Then I would start looking for alternative places to work. UpWork.com would be one. Freelancer.com might be another.

      Good luck.

That's what I'm thinking. My policy with refunds of digital products, Fiverr Gigs, etc, is to just grant the refund and move on. There are people out there who will make a huge stink over $5 and it's just not worth it. Just refund them and move on. If the OP is being completely truthful, that means he lost $1500-$2000 a month just because he wanted to be stubborn. I, too, am sorry that happened to the OP but there must be a way to open another Fiverr account.

Sorry you lost your *one* source of income.
But. You didn't lose the talent. You must have talent to get 1000 reviews, no?

While this must be scary, it is also a wonderful opportunity to be *forced* to look at the hundreds and hundreds of opportunities for someone with your skills.
Right now you had only ONE stream where the money came through. But, there are THOUSANDS of streams!! Others with your skills make money in thousands of different ways!! So your one stream got shut down, and now you have to see what else is out there...

Something good is going to come your way.

Just keep the faith. There are much better things in store for you.

      This.

If you're going to rely on ONE source of income, then it should be having a quality e-mail list(s) that buys from you.

Unlike Amazon, Bing, Google, Fiverr, etc.. Nobody can take away your e-mail list.

Yeah, it's not just a lesson about putting all your eggs in one basket, but about putting them all in a basket you don't even own. You made some income, but you couldn't build a list, and Fiverr was your boss. Your boss fired you.

That's why you need to build your own platform, collect contact information from your own customers, and make more money than you ever did with Fiverr. Get positive about the future and get busy. You can do it!

My advice would be to scale down on everything ASAP. Conserve money so that it lasts for as long as possible. Whatever skill you had that enabled you to make money on Fiverr you can take to other platforms and use it to make money. The goal should also be to get people away from these platforms and doing business with you directly as to avoid the fees such sites charge. If you're good at what you do, then you'd have plenty of steady customers to sustain you without having to rely on advertising for more work if things get slow.

Something I would suggest is to locate a specific customer base for your work. Once you've located a customer base offer your services. The internet is a great place to start, a simple Google search should lead you to forums, blogs, etc. where people will need your services.

You're a graphic designer. You have the skills and experience so you have a powerful instrument which can let you earn a lot (not only for bread and butter).
If you can't succeed on fiverr again, you could try freelance networks. As for me Upwork could be really great oprion for you, you'll be always provided with job.
To have a lot of contracts you can hire account managers who will search contracts for you and take some comission from the project.

Work on building an email list.

You can create a free ebook or something related to what you do. You then can promote your services and most likely make a lot more money. Or course you will need to learn marketing or how to get traffic. Thats the easy part though. You have paid and free. Paid is instant Free takes time and is hard to scale.

    GraphicD,

So sorry to hear about your Fiverr issue. I have been there in regards to putting all of my eggs in one basket. That truly is not a fun place to be. Rest assured I have some solutions for you. Probably more profitable for someone of your talent. You can go to these sites, create a free account, and then bid on jobs in your field that you feel you would be good at. Here are some sites to check out:

    1.) http://freelancer.com
    2.)http://odesk.com
    3.)http://upwork.com

Those are just a few there are many others. Google search it and then go to work. Good luck to you!

    To our success,

You can always just make another fiverr account and start over again on the new account…if you're as good as you say you are than it shouldn't take long to get back on top

That and you can always offer your services on other sites like glance.com or odesk.com. And most of those sites let you see available jobs and bid on them as well. This way you'll be a little more proactive and able to get your services seen by even more people.

I hope that helps and good luck!
