Should I use a separate gmail account for Adsense different from the gmail account I use in Youtube?

Im finally finding success on my Youtube channel, it's all whitehat, and all original content, so im not going to pay any networks and im going for Adsense to get 100% back.

My question is if I should register my Adsense account with the same gmail account im using for my Youtube channel or is best that I use a separate gmail account? Just in case I ever have some problems, which I hope I don't as im doing things the right way. The thing is i've heard some people having problems accessing their Adsense if it was the same gmail as Youtube if their Youtube channel got a strike or something.

Please help quick, my Youtube channel is blowing up and I feel stupid since im not still monetizing anything due this doubt I have bout if I should use a different gmail account when registering Adsense.

Since gmail, YouTube and AdSense are all owned by Google it makes no difference. Google knows who you are.

It is more how you want to manage things. i.e. Keep spam to a different account than AdSense correspondence, for example.

Also, you can tie all your Google accounts to a single login and then switch between accounts. Again, since all platforms are Google it doesn't really matter how you set things up.

This is a good point. In my gmail account associated to Youtube, I get tons of extra mails that I don't really need, the gmail im considering to use to register Adsense is a clean gmail account. So if there are not any problems, I will use this separated gmail account.

Can you confirm that there are no problems then, in using a different gmail?

Im asking this because in the guide, it says that you should use the same account because these sites use a different application process:

If your website is on one of our host partner sites (such as Blogger, YouTube or Hubpages, among many others), then you should sign up through your account there – these sites follow a different application process.

So im not sure about this yet.

Youtube is getting suck sometimes for the highly competition. So, sometimes even you're posting your unique, stupid guys report your video to make it down (if your videos get rank). Thats why your adsense account can be disabled or your youtube monetization can be shut down.

It does not help if you are going to use a separate gmail account in this case. Because, if your youtube channel account is not in well-standing, your channel only will loose the monetization opportunity. So, keep using the same gmail that was used to create TY channel & Adsense. All you need to be aware of fake clicks. And try to figure out how to cope with fake reporting on youtube. Because, you will need to face this kind of problem in near future. Lots of professional Youtube marketers has banned for this kind of issues. But Best of Luck!

This is why im about paranoid about Adsense and I was considering a network so they can deal with this, but honestly it sucks to pay them extra money.

Im not doing anything fishy, im doing animations that I have constructed myself and the music I use is copyright free, so how are they going to report my video when I have all the proof needed to prove it's me? The videos have a watermark which has the registered name I used on twitter, instagram etc, I own the project files and so on and so on.

How would they claim copyright over that? I can simply reply back and prove that I own the rights and im the original creator and they would get in deep legal shit by trying to being assholes.

      But did you read this?

      https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/10162

Click on "1. Submit your application" and read:

If your website is on one of our host partner sites (like Blogger, YouTube, or Hubpages, among many others), you should sign up through your account there - these sites follow a different application process.
This, to me it means that I should use the same gmail that I use for Youtube.
Maybe in the past they allowed different gmails but now you need it to be strictly the same as you use in Youtube for Adsense?

      Also here:

      https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72866

      1. Go to the Monetization page. Get there by clicking your icon in the top right > Creator Studio. Then, in the left menu, click Channel > Monetization.
      2. Go to the "How will I be paid?" section.
      3. From the AdSense Association page, follow the "next" step to be directed to AdSense.
      4. Select the option at the bottom of the page to choose the Google Account you want to use.
      5. Enter the password for your Google Account.
      6. Accept the Adsense association.
      7. Provide your contact information and submit your AdSense application.
      8. You'll be redirected back to YouTube and will see a message saying that your AdSense application has been received.
      9. Adsense will update you by mail once your AdSense account is approved. Your AdSense ID will be updated on the AdSense Association page. Note that it may take up to 48 hours for the association to be fully active.

I need help because if I screw up im going to be really pissed off, specially with a channel where im putting so much effort into and that's finally taking off.

P.S: Ok upon reading it again I actually interpret it as "choose any google account you want" and not strictly use the same Youtube account, at least on the step by step guide..

It is not black and white, and not mandatory. It is only their suggestion.

If you have an AdSense account and a few websites making money and then sign-up for YouTube, you do not get a new AdSense account. You only have one AdSense account for all your properties.

If you have no website and use Blogger, then sign up using that account. But you don't have to.

If you have a YouTube channel and no website, sign-up with that account.

What are Google's guidelines if you have a Blogger account, two gmail accounts and a YouTube account. Which should you use to register for AdSense?

Right. But only one. You can't have multiple AdSense accounts and you can't transfer your AdSense account.

I have never monetized anything in my life, this is the first time ever I manage to get natural traffic in a steady way.

So im going to sign up using my empty, clean gmail account so I only recieve Adsense related mail there, and link it to my Youtube channel url during the registration process, following this guy's guide:

It should be ok and I should be making some money soon.
