Promote your app before launch with no budget

Hi, I created an android app and I think that android users will like it so much. Now, I'm trying to build email list like you do in Marketing to get clients and to get a push on launch day but I have only 11 emails on my mail list after publishing a post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...8#post66309198 and by posting a few posts in Reddit, I had started to build my list 3 days ago and I'll launch my app on 30 April in the play store.

My question is where do I find users to talk about my app? Is List Building a wrong way to promote my app? What others tips that you think I should test to acquire more emails?

The way I see it is not that you "only have 12 likes" BUT that you only have 1 real post...

Before a launch you need to create buzz, offer information, share content that supports the utility of your new app. Be dynamic and move the mountains in other words. You can do this by posting more about your product (and even yourself).

The idea behind the app is really good and you can target specific smartphone users by using intersecting targeting. Here's a video on what it means and how to do it:
However, since your page is so young, I don't recommend that you build your list on Facebook right away (meaning don't put any opt-in links until you have gathered a crowd of fans first). This will get you lower reach on your posts.

Hope this gives you some ideas and best of luck with your launch!

This is some of the best advice I've heard. Do this.

To answer some of your concerns from my own perspective though...

          1. Yes you are correct in compiling an email list. Your list building efforts will give you an avenue for feedback and promoters of your app post launch and even in the beta stage.

          2. To help your List building efforts you should be using Social Media. I would take a look at twitter. Having no budget means social is the place where you are going to be able to promote your stuff. You might even be able to find people who are looking to test apps, or those who have problems switching between their apps be creating the right lists.

          3. Also you should clean up your typos and language. For instance the cover of your facebook page should say "Access the Awesome with a Single Swipe"

and "Switch between your apps become easy !" Doesn't sound right.

Create and offer a demo version and share it to facebook groups that are interested in related app as you created. Join that groups. Make your introduction, make conversation, connect with some known members with high reputation in the group. You'll need some time to do this. Once you have been known by them... then offer your demo version on that groups.

Offer the same thing (demo version) for anyone who comments and sends you a PM via youtube. And promote your video about the app using view exchanger like vagex.com, etc.

    Hope it helps. Good luck!

Step 1: Determine your audience niche (you'd be surprised at what you'll discover if you give this step enough time)

Step 2: Determine key phrases your target audience would use

Step 3: Find blog posts that use the Facebook plugin for comments. These posts must be about your key phrases

Step 4: Create helpful content (that doesn't blatantly spam your app) and promote its links on FB plugin comments.

    Shortcut? Use a VA

For only $100, I was able to get a HUGE number of list members using a VA for this.
