Quick Quora (and Yahoo Answers) Research Hack

Again, one of the best ways to find niches and topics to write about, is to know the questions people are asking.

And the two biggest (and best) sites for questions and answers are Quora an Yahoo Answers.

With a fast and easy Google search hack, we can quickly find the questions people are asking on these two Q&A sites.

If you're not familiar...the "site" search operator will limit to Google search results to a particular domain.

The "intitle" operator means that the title of the web page must contain that search term. In this case, I'm using the question mark (?) to find questions people are asking. Although most page titles on the two sites are likely in the form of a question anyway, using the question mark probably helps just a little bit to get slightly more relevant results. You can probably leave it out in many cases

And of course, the last part of the search is dog training. Just replace dog training with your own keywords.

site:quora.com intitle:? dog training

site:answers.yahoo.com intitle:? dog training

Just paste either/both of the search queries into Google, change dog training to your own keywords and check out the questions you can use for your next niche site, report, email, etc.

And both Yahoo Answers and Quora are great places to begin your research for your content...

Yes. I agree with your suggestion.

I have experience using Quora. It's really a great place to learn.

They also have forums and you can subscribe for newsletter.

Quora is a great site for marketers and one that's been on my list of "should use more" resources for a long time.

Article marketing may be "dead", but writing and posting a quality article as an answer on Quora has a ton of benefits. It's also a great for researching content, as there's a lot of high quality answers.

Quora is also a double barrel marketing resource. First, you can get internal traffic to your posts from Quora users. Its pages also tend to rank well in Google. For those into SEO, if you have a good response in Quora that is well "liked", do a little link building to that Quora page to get it ranked.

    This is a great thread.

I use Yahoo Answers and Quora also...but I use a third powerful resource...Google Trends.

At the very top, I set the setting to either "United States" Or "Worldwide".

Next, I use "Past 7 days" or "Past 30 days"

Next, I type in my search queries. I use both singular and plural versions for my keyword (example: at-home exercise and at-home exercises)

I write down the cities and or countries and the rising long tail keywords.

By creating high quality content or videos containing both the hot locations and the long-tail keywords, the results will amaze you!

    Wonderful info.

Wow, I'm such a neanderthal at this.

I have a pretty popular blog and I just talk to people all day long, answer comments, do coaching, create products for my membership site... and I do it all rather intuitively, based on convo.

This is going to make me a scientist

Thanks again, I really will try this out and ps: 2 questions since I'm new to this.

    1. I've been on Quora and Y-Answers a couple of times and don't seem to see what DATES people are asking and answering. I think that's really key since info and tactics change over time. I'm a very active blogger and I hate blogs that block dates just so they don't have to keep coming up with new stuff, or so they can keep rotating old blog posts as if they're new. Is there a way to see dates on these forums? (I love that WF shows them).

    2. What do you think of blogging on Quora (as well as WF)? My sense is that it's more archival and less in the flow of conversation.

One more thanks for the kind of thread posting that really keeps this forum vibrant.

I don't know about finding dates for posts on Quora.

I'm not an expert on Quora marketing, but from what I've read, you're much better off responding to questions rather than "blogging" or whatever Quora calls their posting feature.
