Neglected Site - Getting Interest

Hi guys,

I have a site that was very successful for me in the past it was for the freebie incentive scene, it was a lucrative niche, but not so much now. I've neglected the website, but for some reason its getting interest again - it's got about 240 subscribers to my mailing list in the last 3 months, and everyday signups. I tried pushing them to signup to the freebie incentive site, and they do but none of them follow up with the offers.

I'm wondering what I could use this mailing list for, and push the subscribers to make use of it? any ideas? traffic is UK, US, CA.

My old mailing list had 8,000 that all converted to successful signups. This is a completely new list I'm working with

That's pretty broad. We would have to know the market and more.

Sorry, freebie incentive scene was where you signup for offers in order for points - you cash out points to receive free gifts such as amazon vouchers, ps4's, laptops etc...

    Bushell86,

Part of your challenge, as I see it, is that you've focused on the audience of freebie seekers. They flock to sites like yours as well as recipe sites, joke sites, funny video sites, online game sites, quote sites, astrology sites, etc. These are places where they can be entertained and feel like they're getting something for nothing. These people bounce around from site to site but have no real intention (and sometimes no capability) of spending any money online.

Personally, if you are in this game to make money, I would count your former list building experience as training and focus all your energy on building a real business on a new domain. You could go to great lengths to salvage your old list (which I personally think is not your best money move) or you could write it off and start right now on attracting people who are ready, willing, and able to spend their money with you.

    Good luck,
    Steve

Thanks Steve, the problem is in the past each one of them 8,000+ subscribers equated to £30. Now they're not converting - its sad to see as people are still signing up.

I cut ties with the site some time ago, I may try and push cashback referrals to them like quidco in the UK.

I've moved on to a more lucrative market in gambling and thats being rather successful, but just thought I could of done something with these new subscribers
