Anyone else getting @reply spam on Twitter?

I'm getting lot's of it! I can't see one legitimate reply on my twitter client.

How do you stop it?

I know, it's not possible as of now, but what ideas do you have?

Sumit.

I believe the only thing you can do right now would be to report the user as a spammer -- twitter cracks down pretty hard on reported spammers and accounts get suspended pretty quick!

Follow @spam on Twitter and then DM them the IDs of the spammers, with links if you can.

They'll zap 'em in short order.

not sure but I believe that you can blog certain tweeters from tweeting to you.

I am getting at least a few @reply spams a day. So annoying. One of them offered free dating site passwords; I went to check out the person's Twitter home page and literally they had nothing but @replies to people with the same tweet, again and again.

AND they weren't following anyone or being followed by anyone.

Kind of sneaky - if they don't follow people they probably can stick around Twitter a little longer because when they DO follow people - those people are going to block and report them immediately.

And for right now, as far as I know, all you can do is block them and report them to Spam Watch (spam) on Twitter

Yeah.. But the spammer can make another account. It takes 30 seconds to make a gmail id and 1 minute to make a new twitter account on the slowest of the connections.

I use tweetdeck and immediately hit block and report spam when that happens.

At the least, I won't get it twice from them. But perhaps more people will start doing the same and it will help make the spam less effective.
