Default Keyword Research Data : Micro Niche Finder vs. Market Samurai

Hi,

I have dilemma this morning, I found this result on Micro Niche Finder (GREEN-SOC) :

but when I double check using SEO Competition on Market Samurai, everything is RED :

if you're on my position, what would you do? should you use Micro Niche Finder's SOC or Market Samurai's SEO Competition to decide whether this keyword to be used or not?

I don't sweat competition as I know how to match & beat competition...links links and more links...and Uncle Anchor Text...

All competition means is that there is money to be made there.

Don't sweat that...pick a few phrases, write it, publish it, link it...hit it hard and all is good.

Rinse repeat.

That's my 1.75c

I use Market Samurai as well and my personal chioce would be not to target that specific keyword.

The sites that currenlty rank in the top 10 are:-

1. Well established,
2. High PR
3. Thousands of back links, and I bet if you check the back links will be Quality.

Having said that they are not optimising the sites for the specific keyword e.g many don't have it in the URL or head.

Not sure if something like a Youtube vid would work, allowing Google to show some variety? Maybe someone with more experience could answer that for you.

Hope this helps

Cheers

James

Micro niche finder just looks at on page optimisation for it's SOC so you shouldn't really base the competition level on that. Market Samurai gives you a better understanding of your competition. Many keywords that MNF shows as highley hard to rank for are pretty easy since they lack backlinks and have great on page optimisation.

Interesting you should point this out, becuase it came up in another thread recently. I use both tools for this exact reason - to DOUBLE CHECK. I do not necessarily trust one more than the other, but I do check keywords off both tools just as you have shown here.

As for this keyword, there are easier fish to fry.

Okay, about Market Samurai's SEO Competition, how many 'green field' from 10 Google's front page that indicates save number to jumped in? specially BLD and BLP. is it 5 of 10 should be green... or 7 of 10? or all of them should be 'green'?

thanks!

BLP (back links to page) is the one to look for. So if the site has a high pr and high BLP personally i leave that niche alone...

Personally I wouldn't optimize for that keyword due to it having the word 'free' in it. I've found people who are searching for 'free' stuff generally aren't in 'buying' mode.

it doesn'd matter if it has the word "free" in it. Maybe robson wants to create an Adsense website, and doesn't need to sell enything to make money this way.

Didn't think of that..did you?

Mico Niche Finder's SOC is based on inanchor, intitle, and inurl counts. The red boxes you are seeing on the Market Samurai page are for backlinks to the page and to the site, the age of the domain, and PR. So they're not really comparing the same thing. I think it's more useful to use both programs, rather than basing your keyword choices on just one tool. You'll have a more complete picture. Look for keywords that are a GO in both tools.

Make sure not to forget to check market samurai's SEOTCR figure as well.

That's the percentage of the SEOC that are title optimised for your keyword. You'd be surprised how many of those page backlinks dont have "free font download" in the anchor text, and obviously not in the URL, H1 tags, etc.

Why not try and rank the keyword using a web 2.0 property like hubpages, then drive that traffic back to your site. If you cant rank the web 2.0 site anywhere decently within a month, I would seriously consider finding another keyword!

(assuming you dont have a pr6 domain with 100k+ inbound links that is)

Everything these companies offer can be done for free, if you know the right codes to post on Yahoo and Google.
I found no real advantage to these companies, anyone can find the info online. I am not joking....it's free on the Internet, do some research.

Bad choice for adsense, considering the low cost per click. Been there, done that, don't plan to do it again.
