Default I'm putting my head in the oven but it's electric

I am again asking you all for advice.

In no way is this a ploy to get you to read my WSO. It's undoubtedly long gone, buried in the mists of time.

I offered as my first WSO a PLR packet of 10 articles in the online dating niche for just $5. I hoped people would purchase what I considered a great deal, like how I wrote, and consider me for jobs.

Just two people bought the packet. My question is, is PLR no longer worth offering, or was my niche choice oversaturated?

Any ideas on this? I liked writing the packet, but don't know if it is worth it to write more, having spent days writing it and money posting it. I actually lost not only the time I spent, but did not even break even with my two sales.

I was thinking of putting my head in the oven, but to my chagrin, it is electric.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have for me

Don't go tanning your face in the oven just yet.

IMO most WSO's fall into 3 categories.

Get rich quick systems
Real business systems
Content (PLR or otherwise)

So far content has sold the least in my experience. I have had far more success selling video content than written.

Hope that helps

Way back when,

I was having a nice WSO selling streak and another Warrior ask me to "coach" him on doing a WSO.

I showed him exactly what I was doing and he followed my advice. He provided a ridiculously low priced plr pack that he wrote entirely by him self and it was a good pack.

He didn't sell one.

That's when I came to the conclusion that PLR wasn't as good a WSO seller as other offers.

As much as a lot of People are always talking about article marketing, spinning, and repurposing PLR this is weird.

Robin, the problem was that you didn't provide a purchase link. You mentioned in a later reply to send payment to your paypal account, but did not give a paypal address to send it to. I was ready to buy, but gave up!

Here's the sales thread for reference:
Special Offer for Warriors Only! 10-pack PLR for just $5

I don't know, but perhaps if you had mentioned the subject of Dating in your thread title, it may have gotten more interest.

Your title needs to be much better than that. You have to say something like:

Carve Out Your Piece of the HOT Multi-Million Dollar Dating Niche With This Incredible PLR Offer!

Something like that.

Go to the Copywriting forum here for help with the title, I've found many Warriors in there to be a HUGE help!

In your sales letter you have to talk a little about how hot the dating niche is. Show some screen shots for keywords your PLR covers from the google keywords tool.

Find some stats about how many people use dating sites, use that in your copy.

Talk about the payout some dating sites give you for their affiliate products in your copy.

Show some writing samples (I wouldn't suggest writing samples from the articles you are selling, but other articles you have written)

Definitely have a big old fat Pay Now button, in fact, put at least 2 of them in your copy.

HTH

Even with all of that said, unfortunately, as many have pointed out, PLR is hit or miss here.

Hey Robin,

just my 2 cents worth.

Dating is a great niche, definitely one that's here to stay, infact watching on I think it was 20/20 or 60 minutes that during the recession, dating actually experienced phenomenal growth, experiencing personal crisis as a result of the recession basically forced people to re-evaluate their priorities and to determine what was most important in their lives, so short story long (I'm getting there), dating is awesome and even after the recession will continue to thrive.

Why don't you consider fleshing out your articles to make a plr product?

People by nature are busy and want things ready made. Whatever you can do to make it easier for your customers has the greater appeal.

Creating an e-book, minisite, salesletter, etc packaging it you can charge more and it has higher perceived value, especially if you limit the total copies sold and the types of rights.

This is because they can do more with the product then they can with just articles alone, even re-purposing it into a completely new product.

Why not create a mini report on dating and sell as a listbuilder or a stepping stone for a higher ticket product.

Turn your articles into an autoresponder sequence that gently promotes dating sites and sell them. Like I said, people love ready made, whatever takes the headache out of the equation has the most appeal.

You just have to think outside the box a little but the sky's the limit.

People love buying products that are ready to plug in and profit from so if you're already writing top quality articles, why not expand on those and write top quality plr, and by producing top quality you will get repeat customers, be able to charge more for your work, build a solid name and reputation for yourself and set yourself apart from those selling crap for quick money.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Dating is a great niche for selling PLR content as this is something that is gonna stay forever in the internet circles apart from the vanish-quick get rich quick schemes. May be the right time hasnt come of yet, as of now.

Robin, you didn't even give a PayPal address to the person that asked you how to pay, just your domain name. Are they supposed to guess what your PayPal address is? Girl, that will cut down on sales big time!

Robin, have a fellow warrior help you set up a payment button (hooked to your PayPal address) right in your WSO. Ask for help here in the main forum, I'm sure you'll get a few kind souls to help you out.

If you don't want to setup automatic delivery, you can always email your customers back with an attached zip file of your PLR package.

I think the problem was with your headline. You never mentioned any niche! I mean, you don't have time to go through every plr offer since there are millions of niches.

You should have given a payment link or atleast a direct paypal address.

And you should have linked to your WSO in your signature!

Now, I'm not an expert (I haven't done any WSO nor am I a copywriter), but these are somethings that caught my eye.

Sumit.

I've sold PLR through WSOs before...

They sell OK...

What sells well is "How To Make Money Doing This..." guides

Looked at the WSO, don't mean to be rude, but it's boring. Dull title, nothing interesting about the copy (actually no copy there!), no call to action, no way to buy. So why don't you rework it, get a couple of folks to critique it, then post again. I've found that EVERYTHING in Internet Marketing has a steep learning curve, why would WSOs be any different -- figure out what you can improve and try again, you'll get better. You might jazz up a couple of the article titles, too, they're pretty standard titles. If I bought the package I'd change the titles before using them. Everything needs a bit of pizazz.
