4 Ways To Make Money From Amazon Marketing

Some of you may know this while others don't.

For those of you who don't know, I have been doing Amazon marketing since 2013.

At first glance, you might be asking why Amazon since their commissions are only 4% as compared to others like Clickbank who are paying 50-75& commissions?

My reason is very simple.

From my perspective and from Amazon's perspective.

1. First of all, Amazon has been a globally trusted brand that has been promoting physical consumer products that people like you and me buy everything from malls but due to high business costs resulting from uncertain economy, people prefer to buy things online which are cheaper.

Unless you are a baby boomer who is not used to surfing online or even use a PC of course.

2. Secondly since Amazon is dealing with physical products, they have warehouse and delivery staff to ensure every product it promises is in tip-top condition.

In the warehouse, on the way to delivery and even when it is delivered to customers.

And I can tell you heads and shoulders, Amazon has excelled in all.

In fact based on my research, Amazon even want to come up with its own digital / info products like Clickbank which can pay you the same percentage of commissions.

So on top of promoting physical products, you get to promote digital / information products as well in e-books - which Amazon preferred to call Kindle books and e-learning courses.

And make good money.

And speaking of making money, there are basically 4 ways.

1. Affiliate Marketing

You can start out by promoting any of Amazon products as an affiliate or associate as Amazon again prefers to term as.

2. Product Selling

You can also list your own products on Amazon be it physical, digital or even apps so that when people buy, you earn.

Moreover, you are leveraging on Amazon's payment processing and shipping / delivery system so that you never have to worry about customers' payments and whether they received their orders on time.

3. Kindle Publishing

You can also write e-books and come up with your own audio and video versions - like Clickbank and still make good money.

4. Mobile Apps Publishing

Last but not least, you can design your own mobile apps and start selling on Amazon.

From my research, mobile game apps tend to sell the best.

So with that said, here are the 4 ways you can make money from Amazon.

I for one has been focusing on Amazon affiliate marketing and in my next few posts, I will show you how I go about doing it.

Free methods like posting classified ads like Adlandpro, Adpost, Craiglist and Gumtree.

As well as paid ones like FB ads to your fanpages.

How would you use classified sites for an Amazon site? Are you putting an ad up to promote your website brand or just ads for individual products?

Currently creating an Amazon site - would appreciate any tips of things I can do right in beginning to kick start things properly...

        thank you..

Classified ad sites other than Craigslist are a waste of time. But dont expect to post your Amazon links all over Craigslist and expect to make money. Wrong place to do that at, and also ineffective.

As the saying goes " To each is own" I do not have time to waste on Amazon's measly 4% commissions. You would have to sell in large volumes to make any good money and that is very hard to do. I would rather sell 10 products at a $1000 commission each (i.e. $10,000) than 100 Amazon products at say $20 commission each (i.e. $2000).

      I don't look at "measly 4% commissions".

I look at the way the market looks at the products on a big picture.

Especially second half of the year due to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas and New Year holiday shoppings.

      When most people buy on-and-offline.

      Exactly.

Amazon is nickel and dimes for most affiliates without their own massive traffic source.

The money on Amazon or any other marketplace is from owning a product and marking the price up (ex: 5x or 10x times).

This hasn't been the experience of all Amazon customers.

I've purchased six items from Amazon, three had delivery/condition issues. I stopped using Amazon several years ago and will never use them again.

  • I do agree that self-publishing ebooks on Amazon's Kindle, may be useful when you are wanting to drive targeted buyer traffic to your backend offers, featured in your ebooks.

Infact I agree with you about Amazon's brand recognition and their well refined customer support. On the other hand, their paperback books are not bound the best, and 4% commission isn't even attractive to real estate agents, or to people who sell mega yachts. Back when I was a realtor, before I became a serious real estate investor, I wouldn't sell any real estate, unless I earned at least 7% commission.

7% doesn't seem that much, unless you are selling high ticket items priced at over a million dollars.

I agree with Amuro. There are plenty of high-quality products that Amazon offers.

The commissions are generally low as compared to other affiliate market places. That can be a put off for some people.

Also, Amazon has a review process before they accept you as an affiliate. That may put off a few affiliate marketers.

Else, I think the overall package is excellent.

Any ideas on optimizing for conversions?

This really is the 'secret sauce' because it goes all the way back to niche selection, product positioning, and it also goes 'forward' to traffic optimization (ie., instagram and fb ad optimization)

I do like amazon. Here is the reason. Products they sell got great users reviews. Customers can interact with the website and provide valuable feedback as to the drawback of any product or service. Sadly, there is not the case with some companies. For example, Netflix is deleting all user reviews on movies. Maybe, this is because most Netflix movies are $@&+! Also, they got rid of five stars last year.

OK, so imagine if Uber or Airbnb got rid of their rating system and say that a lot of comments were full of racism. Do you really think that would help their company? Bad product = hating reviews.

Customers trust amazon because not all user reviews are positive and most are middle of the road if you know what we mean. That is why I am an affiliate of amazon.

Amazon is a terrific platform - if they are your products (i.e. your creation and not a dropship from AliExpress). There is so much competition in mainstream products so you would need to find your niche. The ebook is great for marketing exposure but not so much for large cash flows. Again - positive: Amazon is has a huge customer base and great ranking system which supports your innovative product. negative: tons of competition and low margins.

There are Amazon affiliates consistently making a whole lot of money month after month. I've been doing extremely well with them for over 20 years now.

They have changed their commission structure. But just stay away from the low-paying categories and products, build customer lists, and encourage reorders and/or large quantity orders. Some categories pay 10% commission.

Keep in mind Amazon will pay commission on any qualifying product your customers order even if it is not the product being promoted. The name recognition and buyer trust beats any other affiliate program hands down.

Good tips but, I think there is a problem with the Amazon affiliate program so I don't know if the first method is feasable anymore. For the last two years, my earnings are fixed to an amount.

Somehow, my click count, page count, content quality etc. are not important anymore. 2000 organic clicks earn the same amount as 20.000 organic clicks. I even disable half of my links for a month and earn about the same amount again.

So after 6 years, I am leaving the program.

There is a huge thread about this problem on Amazon's own affiliate forum, but it is impossible to find a solution, because there is a person who tries to close the topic 7/24. When someone mentions about this problem, he somehow bullies him/her. I think anybody reading that forum understands who is him.

Anyway, I will find an alternative method.

Yes those are all great ways to make money with Amazon.

I believe their Affiliate Program and Publishing Program are the better two.

Between those two I still believe the Self Publishing program is the better. It has been around for a while and Amazon is doing a great job at filtering the garbage.

There affiliate program is great to add onto your business but is still changing quite a bit, with low commissions.
