Default Important Questions About Article Writing and Article Submission Please!

I just bought Magic Article Rewriter and Magic Article Submitter but am unclear about some of the tactics used for article writing and submission, so I would really appreciate your input to these questions please...

1) What percentage of your traffic is from people clicking a link in your articles resource box as opposed to organic search engine traffic gained from having back links as a result of the articles you submitted to directories?

2) Is the subject matter of the articles you submit to article directories ALWAYS related to the subject matter of the site you are linking back to in your resource box? For example: If you have a site about womens shoes, would the articles you submit to the article directories ALWAYS be on the subject of womens shoes? Or do you submit easy to write articles about subjects totally unrelated to the subject matter of your site because your only interest is to get the back link and to hell with trying to get click-throughs from your article resource box?

3) There is a Warrior that teaches you to ONLY write about subjects you are interested in because its far easier to write articles about subjects you are interested in than writing about boring topics that you have no interest in (like womens shoes for example). So what do you think about the concept of writing articles that are totally UNRELATED to the subject matter of the site you are linking to?

4) If you were going to submit your article to 500 article directories, do you take one article and spin it in MAR to pop out 500 versions and then submit each spun version to each of the 500 directories? Or do you do anything different for the articles you submit to the top 10 directories like these:
1. ezinearticles.com
2. ArticlesBase.com
3. goarticles.com
4. articlecity.com
5. searchwarp.com
6. articlealley.com
7. buzzle.com
8. articleset.com
9. articlesnatch.com
10. articledashboard.com

5) And IF you do something different with the articles you submit to those top 10, then what is it that you do differently than the other 490 article directories?

6) Are you concerned about getting sandboxed by Google for gaining back links too quickly? If so; what is the maximum amount of articles and directories you will submit to per day?

7) Do you ALWAYS change the keywords and anchor text in your resource box for each directory you submit to?

8) If you know of a source (a site or ebook?) where I can find up-to-date answers to these questions then I would appreciate you letting me know.

Thank you very much.

Hi Steve,

I think they are important questions and many of them are really interesting, too. Not sure how much my own answers will enlighten anyone, if at all, but here goes.

It varies enormously. I have some little sites to which almost all the traffic is from articles' resource-boxes and others to which almost none of it is.

Neither. I sometimes submit articles about subjects unrelated to that of the site concerned, not because I'm doing it "just for the backlink" (I'd never go to the trouble of writing an article just for a backlink), but because I'm also trying to get traffic from the article even though the subject-matter's different. Sounds weird? Maybe not when you think that many of the top affiliates for "FatLoss4Idiots" are getting their traffic by targeting "women aged 30+" and not "people who want to lose weight" (that isn't actually a product I promote, by the way).

It depends, arguably, on what you mean by "totally unrelated"!

You're not interested in women's shoes?!

I think that for some people this is good advice. Article-writing doesn't come easily to everyone. For many people, writing about a subject they're genuinely interested in is going to be just about the only way they'll produce any articles worth anything to their marketing efforts. People to whom article writing comes a little more easily and naturally are perhaps better placed to target more commercial markets in which they may have less personal interest. People vary. (And of course many commission and buy articles, instead of writing them in person).

Actually I think it can have great benefits. Again, more so for some people than for others. (I suspect many Warriors will disagree with this perspective).

Sorry - can't help you here (or with the next question). As a marketer, I wouldn't dream of submitting an article to 500 directories; and as a writer I wouldn't dream of using an "article spinner".

I suspect there are many e-books which answer all (or most of) these questions quite comprehensively, including some available as WSO's. I also suspect, unfortunately, that there's little if any real agreement among their authors regarding the "correct" answers.

I just bought Magic Article Rewriter and Magic Article Submitter but am unclear about some of the tactics used for article writing and submission, so I would really appreciate your input to these questions please...

In Bold

1) What percentage of your traffic is from people clicking a link in your articles resource box as opposed to organic search engine traffic gained from having back links as a result of the articles you submitted to directories?

Depends what you want. You can accomplish both, but I generally use spinable articles solely for backlinks from article directories and 3rd party sites. These get some traffic, but that's not really their purpose. I outsource these.

The other type of article I will personally write (not my freelancers) and then promote aggressively for the purpose of clickthroughs/traffic for a fairly competitive term.

You can't gauge traffic from backlinks, it depends on the search traffic of the term(s) you're targeting and your position in the serps.

My articles are always on topic.

Xfactor? Yeah, if I had to write my articles myself for backlinks I might go that route, too. But I don't, so mine are on topic

4) If you were going to submit your article to 500 article directories, do you take one article and spin it in MAR to pop out 500 versions and then submit each spun version to each of the 500 directories? Or do you do anything different for the articles you submit to the top 10 directories like these:
1. ezinearticles.com
2. ArticlesBase.com
3. goarticles.com
4. articlecity.com
5. searchwarp.com
6. articlealley.com
7. buzzle.com
8. articleset.com
9. articlesnatch.com
10. articledashboard.com

If you're using the Magic Submitter you just copy and paste the spun version in there and it will take care of it for you.

You can then use a tool like AAS to submit to the more major article directories as you've listed above (Automatic Article Submitter) and copy in your seed article as you did for MAS.

If you had to choose between the two for some reason, AAS has a far better list of article directories.

5) And IF you do something different with the articles you submit to those top 10, then what is it that you do differently than the other 490 article directories?

Nothing different, but I REALLY REWRITE my articles, phrases, sentences, everything, not just the synonym deal.

6) Are you concerned about getting sandboxed by Google for gaining back links too quickly? If so; what is the maximum amount of articles and directories you will submit to per day?

For a New Site 10 - 20 a day works well for me. They don't all get accepted/posted at the same time, nor indexed. Just don't post 50 a day for 8 days and stop... that'll throw up some flags.

Also, when a site of mine gets sandboxed I will continue to nail it with backlinks, even more aggressively b/c when it comes out of the box BOOM, NICE LISTING!!!

7) Do you ALWAYS change the keywords and anchor text in your resource box for each directory you submit to?

Depends what you're doing. I usually put two links in there and rotate them for my hompage and sub pages. Sometimes I promote two different sites with one article.

8) If you know of a source (a site or ebook?) where I can find up-to-date answers to these questions then I would appreciate you letting me know.

Hopefully, I answered them as well as the young lady above. Don't stress so much. Just take action everyday and questions like these will fade away and you'll be confident in your day-2-day.

Thank you very much.
Steve

Best of luck, bud

I think the best thing you can do is just get out there and start promoting. You've already got the software so you can get your stuff out there. I would suggest trying things a few different ways, and studying the results.

Sometimes people say one thing, and the opposite is true for your experience in your niche. The real secret is finding what works and then building on that.

Most was already said by Alexa and Scott. I just have one thing to add about the submission strategy.

First I always submit my first article to ezinearticles.com and wait until this one gets approved.

As soon as the one at ezinearticles.com is approved I start with submitting my spun articles using Magic Article Submitter and Automatic Article Submitter. I spin my resource box with different keywords as anchor text and different links (home page & sub pages) and also include the link to my ezinearticles.com article in the resource box, because they can get top Google rankings when you add some links to them. I have articles they still get hundreds of views every month, just because of the ranking in Google.

Hey Daniel,

Just to make sure I understand you correctly please...

1) Why do you use two different article submitters?

2) So the first article is original and after it is approved by ezinearticles.com, you take that original article and spin it?

3) If you are submitting to 500 article directories (for example), will you spin the original article (the article approved by ezinearticles.com) 499 times so you have a different spun version of that article for all the other 499 directories?

4) Do you use Magic Article Rewriter to spin your articles?

5) Regarding your resource box for the hypothetical 499 lesser article directories: Along with your keyword rich anchor text link...and a url link to your website - would you put a link back to the original article at ezinearticles.com in the resource box for ALL 499 article directories? And if so; are you concerned about diluting your link juice to your main site?

6) Do you ever write an article about a subject that is totally unrelated to the subject of your site for the sole purpose of getting a backlink like John from XFactor does? For example; your site is about womens shoes but your article is about surfing big waves in Tahiti BECAUSE that is a subject that is super easy for you to write about. Get it?

Thanks

Steve

agree with Dawser, I think you have to have your ezine article pasted before you can have much success with the other submission directories.

I use automatic submitter because I can include all the other directories that magic article submitter does not support. And you can include some of the web2.0 sites too.

Yes, but I spin everything in my articles, words, phrases and sentences

You just have spin the article and submit it with the software. The software will take care of the rest. That means that the software does submit an unique article to each directory. You don't have to create 499 articles first before submitting, the software does that.

I spin my resource box as I do my articles. Also the links. For example:
{my keyword|my keyword}

or you can spin the resource box as following:

{this is my resource box - check out my keyword|this is variation 2 of my resource box. Check out my keyword|this is variation 3 of my resource box. Check out my keyword}

Yes I get it, but I personally don't do it. You can get lots of backlinks without writing articles (social bookmarking sites, social networking sites). Instead of spending the time writing unrelated articles, you would better buy a social bookmarking submitter software (which costs less than $30), and can be found in this forum.

I outsource most of my article writing for my niche sites. I only write articles for my authority site. A lot of my articles I get from getarticlesdone.com.

There you can order 400+ words UAW (Unique Article Wizard) articles for only $7.95 but you receive 1 original and 3 rewrites of each article you order. So with that I only have to spin the words from the articles and I have a great spun article which I can submit to all these directories.

I hope this helps.
