As an IM, how much do you earn in a month?

1. I got involved in IM by starting out dropshipping on Ebay. From there I found out that that I didn't need to sell physical goods to make money online. I spent a good amount of time being distracted by all the ebooks and courses out there, then finally buckled down and started making real money less than a year ago.

2. Before IM I was in the roofing industry... DAMN THAT SUCKED!

3. Last month I totalled $5400+ in profits for all my online businesses.

4. Not so impressive... An XTerra for my wife...

1. I got involved in IM when I realised I could get paid for writing. This was about nine years ago, when I was doing non-IM things at the time and IM wasn't a great priority here really. Then four or five years ago, I discovered eBay and went full time selling physical products for a year or two. I don't eBay much at all these days, but somewhere during that time I got reeled into IM completely and can't imagine doing anything else now.

2. Previously, I've been a classroom assistant, dressmaker, nursing assistant, barmaid... quite a few things.

3. Much more than I earn in a week, but substantially less than I earn in a year.

4. I don't drive. After I accidentally dislocated my driving instructor's shoulder and wrote off his front wheel in one simple manoeuvre, he said he'd be in touch. Six years on, I'm still waiting...

I'm not really successful in a 'look at the noughts on my bank balance and the gas-guzzlers in my garage' kind of way, but I do consider myself successful in that I can work pretty much on my own terms and make enough to stay at home with the kids, with plenty of time to learn more and earn more.

Numbers do not count.

One can tell you that earns $5,000 per month or just $1,000 per month.
One can be OK with $3,000 per month and another one may need more
than $10,000 per month.

Chances are that you have read about IMers that earn even $100,000
month.

Knowing the numbers doesn't help.

What does help to know about IM indeed is this:

You are limited ONLY by your imagination.
It's like being in a room without a ceiling.

There is no border, no ending line to what
you can do, how much you can earn, etc.

I think FEW - very few - jobs offer that perspective.
And this is perhaps the MAIN reason why IM is and
will always be a DREAM JOB for people around the
globe.

Once you accept this then you just need to discover a
vision and think BIG...

And Act.

I think John summed it up very beautifully.

Instead of asking how much other people earn (some Warriors might find that question offensive!) ask 'what kind of income can give me the lifestyle that I've always wanted?'

I realised that the moment I stopped doing mental fantasies about all the other gurus' earnings and start thinking about how much I can make this month and next, I started making more money by being more focused!

By the way, the last car I bought with my IM money was a Suzuki Swift, might not cost much in your country but over here in Singapore, cars are expensive.

I think it is so true that it is the lifestyle you want and not the money directly in itself.

The 4 Hour Workweek really brought about this paradigm shift in me.

Seriously with $3000-5000/Month you can live really quite well. Especially as an Internet Marketer 'coz you can live anywhere.

Jil888, John makes a very powerful point. In the past when I have mentored and coached people (across different niches/ markets) I have found that a very small minority were actually motivated by money or by any numbers.

The majority of them did not see any level of success until two things happened:

1. They had to find what their deep motivation was. I'm talking going deeper than simply "freedom" or "life style". What does freedom mean to you? It's actually a form of the Socratic method. Freedom could mean spending more time with your children. Okay, what does that mean? It could mean attending every single sporting event and every single play they are in. But what does that mean? You can add hundreds of deeper reasons why you would want to go into business for yourself - online / offline / or both.

Going deep, visualizing it, and feeling it so it becomes your emotional reality and creates those permanent neural strands in your brain will motivate you far more than money ever will or someone else's success.

2. Expand their mindset. The first step usually being developing an abundance mindset because we are conditioned by the media, our very own schooling, and sometimes, our own family to think in terms of scarcity. Like the current "recession" or hard times, I'm already hearing "the sky is falling" from some people around me.

I got into IM about a decade ago when I was a financial planner and I met a young man who was barely 20 making the same money that I did passively. I met him at a real estate seminar and since then I've never looked back. Since then I've had a boatload of coaches and mentors, many of whom I've never met, but their works inspired me to take action, get focused, and made me realize that if I wanted to live the life of my dreams I had to:

a) Plan for it

b) Willing to pay the price

c) Not allow distractions and obstacles get in the way

d) Make adjustments when something wasn't working

Since I don't define my success by the type of car I drive I don't see any point in sharing that here. I don't share publicly what I make but I haven't had a job in years. The freedom and lifestyle that IM has afforded me is simply priceless. It's opened my eyes to an endless stream of opportunities.

This is an interesting little thread going on here. I grew up dirt poor and rarely had 100% faith there would be a good "next meal". I worked over the years as a mechanic on anything with moving parts, sales in just about any form... Good gosh the list goes on. I did whatever I could to make sure my kids had a nice place to live and food on the table. I was never more than a paycheck or two away from DEAD BROKE!

A few years ago I was just above the poverty level and then got into a successful outside sales position. ABout that time I met my future wife Liz Tomey and she was doing her own thing online doing Mail Order/ Direct mail. She wasn't making a fortune but she was making enough to not have to punch a time clock for anyone else.

Somewhere along the way we got rocking along and now we are both working full time online and making a very nice living. I won't get into numbers but I can say we have 5 children between us who never have to worry about where the next meal is coming from. :-)

We cover all our homes expenses and have many of the toys we would like to play with. She has a 2007 Shelby GT Mustang and I have two huge 4x4 toys I play with on a regular basis.

The actual numbers do not really matter, the key is we have all we need and most of what we want. We both can take off and do things with the kids and their school stuff almost any time we want. Our children do not have to hear or see us stress over "the next paycheck".

Ultimately it will be nice to take and early retirement while most of our kids are still in school and outsource the management of our residual income streams and only work when we want to work and not because we HAVE to work.

I don't know if I'm "weird" or not- I actually kind of hope I am because every time I'm NOT weird I'm surrounded by mediocrity.

Being in IM or anything else, for the money isn't shameful or immoral. Anyone who tells you it is has wealth and success issues of their own that they will have to overcome to achieve any major success in any field.

Put simply, I am in it for the money and proud of it!

Look, if i wasn't in it for the money, I'd be on my boat right now, fishing pole in one hand, margarita in the other like I told Moffatt yesterday.

But I AM in it for the $$'s, so here I am, wading through the confusion, trying to find something, anything that can give me a slight edge- an extra 1%, save me 10 minutes/day, etc.

If it weren't for love of money, we'd all still be living in caves.

I'd be happy to share blow by blow sales and net figures, except for the hassle of dealing with the 20% or so of people who think that if you have more $$'s than they do, you should be ridiculed, attacked, or that it's ok to steal from you. Robin Hood was no hero, and his story has done more to injure the cause of us upwardly-aiming folks than any other.

I am frankly SHOCKED and SADDENED that so many so-called "Warriors" are falling for the "it's not about the money" mantra.

If it's not about the money, how do you keep score? If not for money, why do it at all? Remember, there is no increase in lifestyle WITHOUT MONEY!

I teach people how to make money exactly as I have done- in real estate, IM, and offline, exactly BECAUSE so many people have an issue with those of us who are in it for the money.

Dollars, pounds, yen, whatever- money is NOT simply paper- it is the ABSOLUTE PROOF that people value what you have to offer.

And if you're NOT in this to offer greater and greater value to others, what the h#ll are you in it for?

1. I almost tried Ebay once (The whole wholesale thing) so I was already interested in working from home. Then about 8 months ago I came across the rich jerk website one night and it captured my imagination. It was the first and last E-book I've bought. So much info is available for free! I had my first site up within 10 days.
2. Before IM I made money selling intangible goods on a game... (Not a lot of money but I'm only 17)
3. After setting up my first site in April I'm making around $5900 a month now.
4. I bought a VW Transporter van for my surfing hobbies and I love it!

1) Fed up with offline work. No money, no time for the kids, no life. Found a few money making programs, got scammed, found one that worked, and the rest is history.

2) A lot happier now than it was back then!

3) Between $10k-$17k currently, dependant on season.

4) Peugeot 206 1.1.

Just an ordinary guy, earning a good wage by telling people what they want to hear, and giving them what they want. Nothing complicated.

2. I dont consider it successful financially until the income covers ALL My bills passively

4. Didn't buy it from my IM money but BMW M3 ( i like to be in debt up to my eyeballs!)
