There, of course, is always YouTube. But you are limited with sites like that.

I recently just started using Amazons S3. I tried it weeks ago and couldn't figure it out. Then I set out to understand it the other day. I was up and running in like 5 minutes. Get the Firefox addon and it is easy as can be.

Then go on YouTube and watch a video on how to use the addon with S3. Very easy. Especially if you are already familiar with FTP.

Yes, I'm familiar with YouTube I just don't want the options at the end of the play. I will look into Amazons S3.

I don't mind paying for quality if there is a good site out there.

When you embed videos on your site, you can add a code ( &rel=0 )to the end of the YouTube code so no "Related Videos" appear.

Again, I would look into S3.

I would also use amazon s3.

Once you get the hang of it's pretty easy. You need to get the firefox ad on and look at some vids on youtube - there's plenty of them as vagabond said.

I like it because my videos load fast and it's cheap compared to hosting on your own server or shared server.

S3 is considerably more costly than some other options. If
you want videos that load fast without the horrible
stop-and-buffer effect you'll get with YouTube and all
other free video hosts you'll have to render them in flash
    yourself.

My videos load fast and play seamlessly without buffering.
I don't do a huge amount of bandwidth and my modest
hosting account handles all my video needs with no
problems. You don't need S3 unless you are doing a big
launch and expect huge numbers of people hitting your
    video simultaneously.

    It's not really expensive either.

Few bucks a month, if that. And that's if you have a lot of videos.

I have been looking into Vzaar. It's affordable, scalable and shows promise. Don't know about its reliability though.

It used to be that you needed "special" video hosting but that's not the case (for the most part) anymore. YouTube (and the other video sharing sites) are great for videos you plan to use to drive traffic but in general, I wouldn't use them on my own site.

The problem is that the sharing site is in control of the video and have the ability to take them down if they so choose. That happened to Robert Plank a while back when he found that the videos he posted to his blog were all gone... poof!

So, for videos on my site I either just use my own hosting account (a "Business" plan from HostGator) or I use Amazon's S3 service. I only use S3 for one of my sites that offers a really huge video product and I like their service (and their fees). I'm not sure what "Loren" has experienced, but I find them a great value and you only pay for what is accessed, unlike a standard hosting plan that is going to bill you every month regardless.

Their system is pretty complicated but using the S3Fox plugin for FireFox made it really easy. You can find the S3Fox plugin here:
