Article Marketing Question

Hello Fellow Warrior's,

This is My first post to the forum, I'm the type who is not afraid to ask stupid question's so please bear with Me.

When you do article marketing everything I have read is "Write your articles around targeted keywords" (ex. Lose belly fat) But if I wrote an article about "How to lose weight quickly in 3 easy steps" More people asuming from what I have seen would tend to read my article if I had a great headline.

So based on your experience is it better to write articles on a more targeted keyword than a broad keyword with a good headline?

On the other hand, if you use a long tail keyword like:

"How to Use the Every Other Day Diet to Lose Weight"

    You might get better results.

You should also look at other headlines and figure out which ones are effective...
I've found using words like 'secret' or 'revealed' will increase your article views

Why not write them with long tail keywords and good headlines?

'The Most Effective Ways of Losing Belly Fat - Put These Into Action And Change Your Life For The Better'

That's just an example(probably not the best one), but my point is - try not to limit yourself

I would agree with Liam 100%. There is no reason why you can't have a compelling title that also has a nicely targeted keyword phrase as well. That way you're trying to not only attract the search engines but also get people to click on the article and read it.

I also have to agree with Liam.

Use titles such as 3 secrets, 3 tips etc These always work well!!

          Good Luck

Ok, ok, HOLD THE PHONE! Here's what I would recommend to you. I'm no expert, mind you, but how does this sound? First of all, yes, you want to target your keywords AND be catchy. Once you have an article for all of your keywords that you want to rank (and those articles are getting a good CT (click through rate)), you can write about whatever. What I mean to say, is that if you have an amazing title that you think will entice articles directory viewers but it doesnt have your exact keyword? Oh well, just write it. The articles AFTER the ones you are ranking as what I call "supporting articles" the main purpose of these is to provide backlinks (through submitting to other article directories or placing them in systems like Free Traffic System) and HELP your important articles get ranked. For this reason. why not give these articles the best chance of picking up random interested viewers on EZA?

    That's my advice anyhow...

    Hi traderfx,

    Weclome to WF.

Regarding about your question, there is only one word that you must understand before you start writing. That word is

    Relevancy.

Take for example, "Lose belly fat". You will write "How to lose weight quickly in 3 easy steps". This is not wrong. But is the way of how you structure your article that will entice people to click on the link that is sprinkled around your article or in the bio/author boxes.

Great article title will encourage people to click. But if your article does not encourage people to click on the link, no matter how good is your article or article title is, it is just waste of time.

    Hope this helps.

If you really want people to read your article then your headline needs to be very catchy even though it may not be focused on keywords.

If you're just doing it for seo, then you don't have to worry about it too much and concentrate on keyword selection.

"Discover" always works well in a headline or title as people are always curious to learn something other people might not know about.

There's really no need to choose between a catchy title or a title with the keyword in it. With the slightest bit of creativity you can create a catchy title that also contains your keyword phrase. It does not have to be an either/or situation.

Actually guys, if you are talking about an article on your own website, the headline's only purpose should be to get the reader's attention or to give them a reason to read the article.

For SEO, it is not the headline, but the meta title that makes the difference (among all the other things). I don't see much SEO power in the headline. At least right now, anyway.

If, however you are talking about submitting to article directories where you cannot specify a separate eadline and meta title, then you will need to work your keyword phrase into a no-so-long headline so that it makes it into the meta title without being drowned out by too many other words.

Look around too - the competition you have that is succeeding is doing something right...right? <wink>

im no expert, but i think the best way is to manually submit. there might be others who have had great success submitting with a software, but from what i have been reading, i think there is only a hand full of good article directory's you wanna submit too anyways.

    I submit to the following:

EZA, and after it's approved there:

    articlesbase
    goarticles
    article alley
    easy articles
    article factory
    amazine articles
    article snatch
    article compilation
    article dashboard

Only a few get traffic but they are all high PR so backlinks from them are great.

Many, many people are actually looking for a Fix or a Solution for a Problem.

In addition, those people are often in desperate need and highly, highly motvated to buy.

The key is to make it without a doubt clear (in the title already) that your article will provide a fix.

You use words like "How to..." "How Can i" <--- often searched on google also !!

    Also use titles like
"The XYZ Problem - A Quick Fix"
"The XYZ Virus - How to get rid of it"

I found those kind of titles working really well as well as any "How to" kind of titles paired with a keyword.

Trader: My keywords/titles are SOLELY based on what my keyword research software spits out - i am not guessing at all. I have hard numbers and usually know in advance whether a keyword is good or bad before i write an article about it. So, the keyword research also determines the title already, to a certain extent.

If the software tells me that "lose belly fat" is good, no problem. But if it says that "get rid of belly" is better and "lose belly fat" is bad i wouldn't use this phrase at all.
