About SRSLTID Getting Append to Indexed URLS

Hi,

My website is facing issue, all of our indexed urls in Google have srsltid getting append to it [link removed by moderator]. It first happened in after Aug 2024 Google update. While on other search engines urls are normal, only Google is showing it like that.

We don't have account in merchant centre neither we sell any products. It's a travel website

We has blocked ?srsltid= in robots

We thought eventually it will be updated but no luck so far. It has affected out organic traffic as well.

Please share your thought if anyone has found solution for this issue.

There's a lot of information about this online. It's used by Google Merchant Center to track results - you can read about it here:

    https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/15191080

The appendix doesn't seem to affect organic search results, but there are instructions on how to remove it if you wish.

You might want to check out a more detailed explanation here:

This issue started after Google's August 2024 update and is affecting many sites. Since your site isn't using Google Merchant Center, it's likely a bug or tracking parameter from Google.

You've already blocked ?srsltid= in robots.txt, which is good, but also:
âœ" Add a canonical tag to point to the clean URL.
âœ" In Google Search Console, request re-indexing for correct URLs.
âœ" Filter srsltid in Google Analytics to keep reports clean.

Google may fix this over time, but keep monitoring SEO forums for updates!

      Thanks for your reply!
Analytics doesn't capturing urls with srsltid. In GA4 the urls are normal, it's just in the search results.

Waiting for some action from Google. I guess no body has found the exact solution for this.

Hey! This looks like a tracking parameter that Google adds, but blocking it in robots.txt doesn't guarantee an immediate fix. Try adding canonical URLs without srsltid and see if that helps. You might also need to wait for Google to update its cache
