" .ca " Niche blog/site

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any disadvantages of choosing a domain name with a .ca extension for a niche blog/website. Will the .ca extension prevent it in any way from being able to be brought up in google.COM or other non-canadian search engines, or anything like that?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

    The .ca extension shouldn't be a problem, and if you're targeting Canadian customers may even be beneficial.

    Not all extensions are equal, though. There is a body of opinion that says that .info domains, for example, don't do well in Serps because they tend to be used for spammy MFA type sites and therefore have little authority with the search engines.
