Websites for writers - opinions needed

I am looking for opinions on sites for article writers, such as about.com, associated content and others.

If you have any experience on any of these or if there are posts in the forums please post here. (nothing specific came up in search)

Thanks,

JR

Jr, I have laid out a VERY detailed chart comparing the functionality and offerings of 19 similar website platforms...

would you be interested in seeing this?

I have used elance , need an article and even rent a coder before, with not good success unfortunately. Have you thought about hiring a writer locally?

Are you looking for recommendations based on how valuable the site is at promoting other sites or based on pay out for writers? I think the answer will be different depending on the angle you're approaching these sites from.

There are many places to park your articles some better than others. Ezinearticles still brings in traffic from articles written years ago.

Depends what you want from writing these articles - credibility - traffic - payment - ranking for your site - so many ways to go.

On the writing site I'm part of. the consensus seems to be that Demand Studios is best in terms of payout and prestige. I've heard they're pretty specific about what they want to see for samples but it seems worthwhile to give them a try. They pay up front which is a plus.

Demand Studios is advertising on the back cover of Writer's Digest, they are looking for writers all the time. I bet you could dig up a blog or tutorial that shows how to create your samples the way they want.

    JR,

I don't know if you've seen this WSO by John Schultz (Zeus66) but I thought it might be of interest to you:
