How do you Automate ping.fm to ping when you update your blog?

Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm thinking you should be able to do it through an RSS feed or something?

I'm looking for a way to do it through a 3rd party site for free.

Your blog should already be pinging something after posting. You don't need to ping again.
What type of blog are you using?

Maybe ping is the wrong word...

I use ping.fm to send updates to all my social media networks, is there a way to automate that task?

I mean I update my blog and something (like an RSS feed), picks up the update on my blog, then it submits it through ping.fm to all of my social media profiles?

I am currently using pingler.com (you can pay $3 per month to have them ping your blog ever 3 days). I have no idea if it works. I just started using it a month ago. But it also matters how often you update your site and how well you optimize it and how competitive the market is.

This may be a dead thread... but... for those who stumble upon the question, there is a solution:

This is a plugin for those who use Wordpress:

      WordPress › PingPressFM WordPress Plugins

This bridges the gap from your blog to Ping.fm.

From Ping.fm to all of your social sites... well... that is what Ping.fm is all about!

Automate your blogging with content feeds (like your author feeds from article directories, YouTube, etc.), and you're set.

Here is what the author has to say on his site:

PingPressFM was the first WordPress plugin to support Ping.fm, it predates the service's API, in fact. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to to work on the plugin for some time-more than a year now. There is evidence that it still works with current versions, but not without manipulation.
So does this still work? If not, any recommendation?

you can feed any ONE feed into ping.fm

just click on superfeedr and give it the address of the rss feed you want to use

if you want to use multiple feeds then just mash them together in xfruits or another masher!

This one's worked for me in the past.

WordPress › CR Post to Ping.fm WordPress Plugins

I bought Andy's plugin from his charity WSO and it does a similar function, but not as in depth as what you can achieve from sending every one of your posts to ping.fm and in turn posting to the big list they make available. Here's Andy's...I recommend it as a good alternative for some good web 2.0 traffic and backlinks:

P.S....Be careful of what and how and how much you post to Facebook via ping.fm, or anything. They shutdown an account of mine.

I know this is an old thread, but thought this might help someone.

I just set up a couple of Ping.fm accounts, and found that I can automate the process of pinging the listed websites by using Hootsuite.com which is free.

Be VERY CAREFUL with the 'big' names - Facebook in particular, and I prefer NOT to auto-post to LinkedIn.

Here's a blog post I just found which explains how to do it:
