3 mistakes a beginner can make...

I have been writing articles for Ezine now for 16 days. I have never been into working online before this. I have had to learn a lot, read, research, and ask questions to get where I am today. I currently have 15 live articles and have never been turned down for writing one, except my first day when I submitted 3 at once all with the wrong link on them

I believe (and please correct me if I'm wrong), I have figured out 3 of the most commons mistakes that beginners make.
  1. They try to fit in too many things at once!
  2. They allow failure to push them under, when they don't make a sale quick enough
  3. They don't know how to accept constructive criticism, and use it to their advantage
I'm sure there's more, as I said, I'm learning still I welcome everyone's advice, criticism, experienced words of wisdom, and encouragement. I know I will not become 'rich over night', and I'm okay with that

I enjoy writing, and love what I do! I hope this post helps some people that are new, and struggling... just so you know (if you are), you are NOT alone! Good luck to everyone.

My problem comes more from the niche itself. Like one of my niche's is car insurance.. Almost everything I try to submit to Ezine articles "fails to provide any new information". The sad thing is I agree.

If I write about Games, politics or movies I'm cool. Gold coins and bullion were also kinda frustrating as well but nearly as bad as car and auto insurance. I don't like how long it takes to get approved with Ezine Articles either. And I'm not sure their search traffic is worth it.

If you already have a higher PR than God, why are you submitting to Ezine?

Honestly, I don't know why everyone's so obsessed with Ezine. I've been getting much better results from Buzzle lately -- more reads, more clicks, more search juice (the articles all seem to gain PR2 or better very quickly... not sure how that works).

I agree that ezine has high expectations, but it only makes you better in the long run. It teaches you to write well, and original. If you can get through them, then you pretty much got a handle on writing.

As far as traffic goes, it is the same anywhere. You have to do extensive keyword research, and keep that up to date. Providing backlinks, and having a squeeze page is will help you gain the traffic you want. Nothing will come without the work and effort.

"If you already have a higher PR than God, why are you submitting to Ezine?" < I agree with you on this. made me smile

Success will come with work. On the car ins niche,, maybe you should go about it from a different angle? It's hard to say.

LOL... I hear ya. I can see into my future =) I took it from ezine to be honest. I had signed up quick and needed a good call number. I wanted something that people would take me as serious as I am about this process, so it came in handy. It's all good

Your welcome David. I'm glad it did help. I'm sure, no matter when you started, that you have done a lot of hard work! You don't want to let that all go to waste. Nobody said work was easy, so keeping that attitude of 'never looking behind' will get you far! Best of luck to you

I have one question to ask, is it profitable to become a full-time article writer. (assuming that a person has good knowledge about the niches he is writing, good english and grammar and good researching capabilities). How much could he earn?

I have heard that it takes some time to get there. I haven't earned yet, but I look forward to it If you put your time, effort, and hard work into something, it should pay off in the end. Making sure of course that you using good keyword research, along with backlinks to drive in traffic.

In order to be a good writer you must always stay on topic, never talk about everything on your articles. A good way to start is writing topics of your interest and what you like.

Well said Craig, it would be a big mistake to be all over the place. You have to keep close to your title, and make sure you do not fall from it, in the middle of your article. A great way to do that is to take some notes first about your title, (kind of like a checklist), then cross them out as you hit them. This is the end, will keep you focused, on track, and covered everything you wanted to say

Good post. I made all these mistakes myself and sometimes still fall back into some of them. Make sure to celebrate your successes, no matter how small they are. That will help you to keep going.

I agree with the first item about beginners trying to do too many things at once. That was me last January. In addition to writing articles for Ezinearticles.com, I was researching three niches and developing a report for one of them. Way too much at one time for a newbie!

But if a beginner learns from those mistakes, he or she is likely to experience success sooner. Not every beginner will know exactly what to do or how to do it. So he or she likely proceeds, using trial and error.

I've learned. THIS January, for example, I'm focusing on getting something out there before I worry about other stuff.

I strongly agree with your 2nd point. This is normal human behavior and people who able to continue work hard towards their target will be the success one.
