A few parameters for newbies in article marketing

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie in IM, I just started to submit articles to EZ and I like to know a few things about it (just to be sure if I'm doing things right or not):

What do you consider a good amount of views for 1 article?
A healthy CTR would be...

Why do you need a presell page? I mean if 250 people read your article and only 20% click on your resource box (50 people ) and only 5% go to the actual product page (3 people ) and that sells page convert 10% of it's traffic, you end up with no sales for that particular article.

Wouldn't be better to send the article reader directly to the sell page? (I know EZ doesn't allow affiliate links, but you can buy a domain and redirect the visitor to the product website). In that way you can convert more sales...I'm missing something?

    no one said you *need* a pre-sell page, but a good pre-sell page, well, pre-sells and CAN increase conversions.

    Views/Article can vary, depends on google position. Some can only get 20-100, some 1000s in a short time. The higher the better of course. Good CTR would be anything over 30% imho. Too lazy to check my stats now.

    If I recall correctly, this will get you booted. Best thing is to direct the resource links to your own site, whether it's a presell page or sales page, either way. Just don't redirect to an affiliate link.

    Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think EZA allows that.

    Views can vary and it really depends on the niche that you are writing for. I find some niches i will only get 20 views and others i get hundreds of views. The ones that get hundreds are usually larger and more popular niches like weight loss and relationships or the ones that have a lot of ezine articles on the first page of google such as the reverse phone search niche.

    Your ctr will also vary but the important factor that i noticed here is to have a good resource box that makes the reader want to click for more information.

    With article marketing its really MANY factors playing a role, you cant simple look at ONE factor (the title, your article, resource box etc...): EVERYTHING must be good if you want to be successful!

    It starts out with good keyword research..then a catching and "reader attracting" title, a good, helpful article, a resource box which makes people want to click.

    THEN..your landing page. Often 3rd party vendor landing sites are not that great, thats why you want a presell or review page, to really convince the visitor to buy (and to continue with what you wrote in your article).

    Its a chain which starts with keyword/audience research and which ends the moment the person CLICKS on "purchase" on the vendor page..and you want each step in between optimized and as good as possible.
