Does this problem happen to you? (For those that are a One-Man Team and NOT Outsourcing...

1. You have more ideas than you have time to execute.

2. You have so many fantastic IM courses with top notch
strategies and tactics, you know, those $997 + courses
that you had bought and learned such as BFM, Mass Control,
TS2 etc... And you find that you can't execute these really
profitable ideas that you know you will truly make a lot of
money if only you could implement them.

But you are lacking 2 things:

1. Time, and/or

2. The expertise in a small part of the entire execution?
For example: You might need a graphic designer to create
an ebook cover, and you don't know anything about creating
graphics. Or you need a script or software that does a
simple job, and you are no programmer.

Are these things costing you big time, because you are not
outsourcing? Or don't know how to outsource properly?

For me, it was a natural progression. I started out doing nearly everything myself, but as things got busier I was able to hire people to help me.

Yes, I've come to discovered that an astounding amount
of IMers are suffering from this, because they are not
        outsourcing.

I think many IMers suffer from this, it's a classic case of information overload and overwhelment (I don't know if that's a word, but it sounds right).

You need to pick a method and stick to it. For example, you can't work on every single method of traffic generation and expect fantastic results, it just won't happen, first you need to master and dominate one method.

I believe we all start as a small one man operation, and outsource our way through (promotional campaigns, graphics for the website, copywriting) and things that other people are just much better at than you are.

Start small (even doing everything yourself if you need) and as your business grows reinvest what you have earned into the proper outsourcing.

For example, I found myself answering hundreds of customer support e-mails and it just took away a lot of my time, so I had to hire an assistant, teach him my business operation inside out and now he answers most of the customer support e-mails (I still answer some).

Do I pay him? Nope, we agreed that he would work for me for as long as he needed to learn from me and we are both making money out of this agreement. So I essentially pay him with coaching.

I think your ability to intelligently outsource can be somewhat limited until you have really got in there and got your hands dirty. That was certainly the case with me. I remember one of the first people I worked with put a virus on my website.

That is true to some extent, but not completely.

You do need to have a basic knowledge in the particular
area before you can outsource, but if you don't,
that can easily be overcome as well.

I teach all of the ins and outs of outsourcing in
my book, please see sig file.

I think that feeling is common for a lot of new IMs. You get the courses and even fhough the money makes you committed you feel like you missed something somewhere and don't know what to do or where to outsource it. Forums like this one come in handy for things like that because you can usually find the answer or ask the question to get you to the next step.

In terms of IM, for me, it's not so much time itself.

And it's not a matter of not having the expertise, I know I'm good enough for where I'm at right now and it will only get better.

My problem is, I'm a VISUAL person, so I am very easily distracted. You know, "out of sight, out of mind" ?? Well, the opposite is true for me as well ... if I see something, I'll hop over to it and work on it before I forget  because I have a horrible memory.

(Don't say "make a list" -- I forget I have a list, or I physically lose the list. If I make the list on the computer, I don't use it.)

So I guess I'd sum it up as a problem with, FOCUS + PRIORITIZING.

And it's hell, I tell ya'.
