Do some shopping at the Warriors for Hire section.

logonerds frequently has a WSO for logo design. I've used them quite a few times and have always been pleased with the result.

I second on Karl Warren. You may pay a little more but his work is extremely good. He is very creative and will work very closely on the work you need done.

99designs.com lets you run a competition for a logo. The difference between 99designs and using one designer is that with 99designs you will get about 20-30 people submitting their ideas for your logo to you vs 1-2 designs that a single designer will give you. You can then ask the designers to make subtle changes and then pick a winner. If you are not graphically talented, like me, you will see some unbelievably great work and designs that you would never have thought of yourself. I have used them to design the logo for my company, then later used them to design business cards and letterhead and then later design my website.

Check out Design Outpost - Custom Logos, Web Design Templates, Business Cards, Letterhead, Stationery, and More. It's similar to one of those contest websites mentioned above, in a forum format.

I've been going there on and off for years. Sometimes I just go to check out what's going on, and some of the stuff being designed there is amazing.

I've also heard a lot of good things about the 99designs competition in the past, too, but I've never run one, personally.
