I guess an IM Warrior Glossary might be a nice addition for newbies.

You might be thinking of PPC = Pay Per Click. You can use the Search function to find endless discussion of it.

PTC traffic = Paid To Click. It is exactly what it sounds like so don't expect to send this crappy traffic to your site and have it convert to sales.

PTC traffic is cheap traffic that some people will use to artificially inflate the number of views to a particular site, taking advantage of sites that give more exposure to pages that get lots of views (like certain article directories).

Paid to click, what a concept. I see no genuine, interest in the product (from the prospect's side) and the conversions are not going to be all that good anyways ( well, that's not 100%, testing will always give the real answer).

People go to ptc site, click some ads and view it longer than a certain timeframe, and they will get paid. You pay the ptc network and they give you the traffic, it's that simple.
Well I saw some people just open up multi browser with multi tab, "viewing" more than 100 ads at the same time, the conversion are really low.

Kind of a tangent, but I remember hearing of a guy who would browse through those PTC sites while stuck in the office on the phone. Of course, he never got rich from that "side income", but he earned enough to cover coffee or gas money...

People use PTC to up their views on Ezine.com so their articles end up in the "most viewed" section.

This results in more "targeted" traffic as there'll be a link to your article on every article in in the Ezine network in your category. It also has a positive effect on your SEO too.

One problem though... If Ezine find out your doing this, they'll ban you.

Hope this explains one of the reasons why people use PTC traffic

PTC is pretty damn cheap. Find one for international, or a real cheap, real broad niche for US/CA/UK and then see what happens.

For PTC traffic, the viewer click on a link and view the ad for say 20 seconds and then he/she is paid a small amount of money. I think you may get good result if you offer something for free.

PTC (Paid To Click) is an option to create an income stream if you can get hold of serious traffic volume. They need to be general offers but with lots of traffic some conversions will happen.
