How do you make a "share this on facebook" URL or button?

Hey guys,

Trying to make it easy for my visitors to share stuff, whats the best way to make a share this on facebook button?

So they hit the button, then the URL takes them to their facebook wall and prefills content in for them to post to their friends.

Anyone know how to do this? would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,
Tyson

I use "sharethis" because it covers all social media outlets, even some I've never heard of.

What I figured out is to find someone that is already doing it and then highlight the part you want to copy. Right-click and click on View Selection Source and copy to a text file. You can edit from there. At least that seems to be the way it works in Firefox on my Mac.

These 3 links might help :

      Share | Facebook

Blogger 'Share on Facebook' Code - Dave Tips

Pretty Facebook Sharing - Dave Tips

I haven't used them as i'm new and still find it difficult to write articles, but I can see how being able to let people share your post easily would help.

If anyone else was wondering the answer to this, here's how you set up the URL:

Login | Facebook[URL you want to share]&t=[Description of page]

I don't think the description is all that important, Facebook seems to automatically pull the title, and first few sentences of text off the page to show what it's about.

This is also why you shouldn't share a bit.ly or other shortened URL, because there will be no description or title for facebook to pick up.

So if you want to make a button (I put it in an ebook I'm writing), just insert that URL directly into the image.

And now people can share my ebook on facebook after they read through it!

Thanks for the help on this.
