What Wordpress Plugins do you use?

I couldn't find a thread on this in search (please let me know if already exists), and I found the Firefox extension thread so helpful I thought I would try with Wordpress plugins. What are you using or what do you find your favorite (if you don't want to list them all).

You've GOT to use the All-in-One-SEO plugin. It's a critical one for me.

    Hello Folks:

I am having trouble with Google Analytics in wordpress. Here is how I asked in wordpress forum - no answers.

    Hello Folks:

I can get GA to work in my html sites/pages so I know how to do that.

But I did the whole plugin thing and no results! Arrgghh!

    Does someone know the way?

    Thank you!

Don't bother with a plugin. Just edit your footer.php file and paste the analytics code above your </body> tag.

I also like the Google Sitemap plugin.

A few others that I have are:
Increase Sociability (Asks stumbleupon and digg users to stumble/digg your site)
My Link Order (Allows you to rearrange blogroll links)
Privacy Policy (Just to create the privacy policy page)
My Related Posts (helps with inner-linking pages)
WP Polls (Want to get user feedback)

Another vote for All-In-One SEO here. A-Links has it's uses too - define a link once (affiliate etc) and then it automatically appears thoughout your site wherever that text is used.

Photo Dropper is handy when you're in need of a quick image where uniqueness isn't a factor (stick in your keyword and it will search flickr for images and then put one wherever you want it in your post, complete with credit).

I also like eshop too, for adding shopping cart facilities. It's no osCommerce, but if you're just looking to add basic shopping cart facilities to your WordPress site and not seeking a fully-fledged e-commerce solution, then I think it's a sight better than the usual suspect (WP-ecommerce? I forget now, but it seems to show up everywhere).

There's probably loads more, but I'll spare you the trauma of reading the lengthy rambles of a WP plugin junkie

Amen on all-in-one SEO, absolutely essential.

My other favorite is One Click Install...It sits in your dashboard and allows you to install themes and other plugins from your local computer and you don't even have to unzip them.

      There are many to use..

recently as a lover of all in one seo (as it is free) I am taking a step up and looking at wpsniper which so far blows away all in one seo.

Being able to control your seo on page is very important.

All in one seo is good, but WPsnipper looks to take it all to the next level.

This turned into the thread I was hoping it would. I, too, love the SEO plugin. I thought I would add three more that weren't mentioned.

    1) WP SuperCache - if you get a ton of traffic, this one can be a real life saver.
    2) Broken Link Checker
    3) WP-Polls

I also like the Flexi Pages widget.

me personally...i found 2 plugins that helped me when I turned a WP blog of mine into a membership site.

    - Register Plus
    - aweber plugin

The register plus plugin allows my new signups to create their own password instead of using the pre-made ones from WP, and allows me to use an 'invitation code' if I wanted to, so that only people who know it, can sign up.

This would be a perfect one for people who want to sell access to their membership, and simply put the invitation code in an email or PDF.

The Aweber plugin for wordpress, takes every new registered user, and adds them to an Aweber mailing list you have.

I use it in this fashion:

    - People sign up (using the register plus plugin)
    - They are automatically in, but a confirmation email is still sent to them.
    - If they want to receive 'email alerts' concerning our site, they have to find the confirmation email from aweber and confirm as usual.
    - Since the list they sign up to simply runs off of Aweber's "Blog Broadcast" feature, everytime I update the blog, they get notified via email of it. It brings them back to the site where hopefully they'll click on some Adsense ads.

I'll tell you this, adding these two plugins increased my Adsense revenue by 50% within a week, because I had my faithful followers coming back every single day to the website religiously because we emailed them that the site was updated with a new story/feature etc.

For me it depends on the purpose of the site too, so it varies. Common ones include:

    ADPS (for shopping/datafeed sites)
    ZipPoster (for content sites)
    I sometimes use both together

Reposter for the smaller content sites that need refreshed once in awhile
PostTagger on larger sites and automated sites
    XML sitemap generator
    the Excerpt reloaded
    Sociable
    Simple Archives

and misc little code snippets for meta tags, meta descriptions, random posts, etc.

My absolutely most important plugin apart from some of the ones mentioned above is Search Meter.

WordPress › Search Meter WordPress Plugins

The reason is that when people search your site it tells you what they are looking for which then means you can write the appropriate content.
