Hi. Can anyone recommend a good free site that allows one to search domains which have actually already been deleted? Ideally the site should offer some additional basic info about the domain like number of backlinks, estimated traffic, etc.

Do you really want domains that have already been dropped??? Or do you want domains that are about to drop? I ask because there is a HUGE difference.

If you wait until a domain fully drops then the age is lost! That puts you back at square one with Google. Buying domains that have not yet been deleted allows them to keep their age. Getting an aged domain with your desired keywords, especially if it has PR and hundreds of backlinks, is the Holy Grail of domains to an internet marketer.

I don't know of any free sites that fit the bill now that Freshdrop has gone paid.

I know someone who is developing a site that has much the same stats/functions of Freshdrop - and it will be much cheaper. I don't think there will be any more free sites because of the resources running the cron jobs and such consumes. Sorry.

Well, I'm new to this forum, so I can't post links yet, but...

I've picked up some real gems using JustDropped.com

It is free, but you have to register and, just to warn you, the owner, Dan, sends you out a weekly list of domain names that he is selling. But, it's worth it to me because, for the domains I look for, it has a fairly powerful search feature for free. Just remember that just because it comes up as a deleted domain, doesn't mean that someone else has not snapped it up.

It's first come - first served!

I also use TDNAM.com where Godaddy sells all their expiring names - you just have to ignore the mixed-in silly "auctions" where newbies believe their 40 character domain names are worth $250,000!

And always remember to check for potential trademark issues before you spend time and money developing a domain name by searching at USPTO.gov first.

P.S.> Because I am new to this forum, let me say that I have NO financial relationship with any of the above recommendations - except... I always seem to pay Uncle Sam too much in income taxes!!!

The info that Zopt.com provided was very useful. I've checked the justdropped.com and I'm on the process of exploring it and how it works.

We will be launching a new Domaining service in the next 1-2 weeks that does everything in your post (and more). If you get on the email list in my sig, you will get advanced notice. Yes - there is a free component to it! :-)

      Here are some links:

      Snapcheck.com
      DeletedDomains.com
      ExpiredDomains.com
      SnapNames.com

I also find the domain auctions of GoDaddy and marketplace of Namecheap as a good sources of expired domain names. Their lists show traffic info but not pagerank. I consider those priced $5 to $25 ".com's" as good buys specially if they have keywords, traffic or they are memorable.

There are many sites offer lists of deleted domains but only a few give you deleted domains with traffic. Some of them is not free. The best free site to find deleted domains with traffic I'm using is Deleted domains / dropped domains with traffic or pagerank .
They collect deleted domains whose sites are in top 1M sites by Alexa ranking. Therefore, they are still have good traffic if you grab any domain in that list.

buyexpireddomains.info is a site I own and stand by for finding deleted domains. You can find exactly what you are looking for there. Good luck!
