Ideas for making money without money?

What are the different ways and types of things you can do to make a living online without much investment of cash capital? I mean things that have at least the 'potential' to really make a lot of money, not some extra cash on the side eventually kind of thing. A full time living. Even if the odds are difficult in it. I just want to be pointed in the right directions to look at various options and all. Affiliate marketing seems to be investment intense with having to invest at least 1/2 of what you can make in return from it. I need other options, even if they require a ton of work and leg work and determination etc.

Wow talk about a tough one.

If its a full time living without spending money the only legitmate options I can think of is blogging and product creation. There are thousands of free and paid guides on how to become a successful blogger but if you know something worth buying, writing an ebook can be a very profitable opportunity.

As for your direct advertising model, something I have done successfully done before is look at my competitors websites and other websites in the niche. See who is advertising on thier sites and then make direct contact via email or phone (preferably phone).

The word "affiliate" denotes being a middle man that helps market and sell a product. Based and your username and post and goal, it sounds like becoming a middleman between someone that has something and someone that wants to buy something is your goal.

Generally, the local market will have less competition than trying to quickly position yourself online, and might give you a better chance of getting lucky (see last paragraph)

Much depends on your personal skills. If you were to tell me you are great with people, both in making new friends, and managing contacts, then all you need is to find something that people would invest in or find helpful in some way. Then you can work your list, and keep making new contacts.

Online, one tactic I have seen that works well is to try to find owners of sites that already have some level of success, and offer to help them make more money through advertising. Make friends with the owner, and see if you can strike a deal to help them sell advertising for example. The problem with this is you'll probably have more competition, and you'll need to be good at what you do (probably more than to the offline crowd).

Whether it be offline or online, you need to make friends first and foremost. Find out how you can help your friends, and then you never know what might happen.

For me, I made a friend at a vendor area of a Argentine Tango event. Neither one of us did Argentine Tango, so we hung out in the vendor area talking. He found out I did websites, and a couple weeks later I showed him a design (free), and he liked it. Next thing I knew he had a client that paid $4000/month and split it with me 50/50. This was the first of dozens of clients we helped together (raking in $xxx, xxx), all from just making a friend a few years ago.

Freelance writing if you can write. Web site design if you can design. Link building service if you know how to do that. Think of services.

Yes, freelance writing works like, article writing, blog posts, web site content, etc... If you can write there a hundreds of sites out there that either need content for their site, or the content rewritten for their market niche.

Search the Internet, contact the company, sign a deal, and start writing!

If you don't know how to write...learn! If you can't type...learn!

One more thing...if you find something that sounds to good to be true...it probably is...run in the opposite direction.

          Hi Eliteaffiliate,

Much of it depends on yourself when you talk about making money without money. Following are some avenues that you can consider:

          (1) Your skills, sell your skills:
What skills do you have? I remember the day when I was pondering the same question as the one you asked. How can I make money without money. I was fresh out of school then and I needed to make money real soon.

I knew then that I was good in Maths and realized that many parents are looking for people to help their struggling children in Maths in my local neighbourhood. So I wrote some ads on pieces of paper and have them pasted on notice boards in the malls (with permission) and also free classifieds targeted at my neighbourhood. Soon I found myself as a Maths tutor with two, three students. To get some students, I started at a low rate as I was a new tutor then. In less than three months, I found myself with more students than I can handle. Giving tuition tided me through a couple of years and I stopped giving tuition eventually as I wanted to leverage on my time and be able to earn a living without myself physically there.

There are many other ways to sell your skill, depending on what they are.

          (2) Offer your service.
Another way to earn money without money is to offer your service. Do something for others that they are not good in or have no time for. What I am doing now is to help companies source for goods, mainly spare parts in the oil and gas industry. Companies pay me a commission to procure spares and I also give them value added services like overseeing the entire procurement including shipping their purchases over to their warehouse.

You can offer your services in many other ways, try thinking out of the box.

There are many other ways to earn money without money.... You just have to find a problem and then offer a solution to them just like what internet marketing is all about.

I hope this will help you.

Let me know if you need any further tips...

          JUICE!

That is very nice advise, "Thinking out of box." And more from me, is persistence.

terenceyang is right on about the skills and services... they are the only things that don't require money - only if you already have them.

But the issue here is that it is unrealistic to expect making a lot of money without any capital input. But it is realistic to attain to that level from the "bottom of the barrel".

To start in the right direction, you need to set a much smaller goal and this is - getting the first $10.

Then once you get the $10, the next step you really should do is to re-invest the $10 back into your next goal of getting $20. Then again the $20 into the next goal of $30 and so on.

It is easier to be successful when you have a much smaller goal to attain.

Beginning in affiliate marketing doesn't have to cost anything. Find some good products to promote from Clickbank, or get in with some CPA networks and run their offers.

You can put up a free website on Blogger, Squidoo, Hubpages, and lots of other free sites. You can then drive free traffic to it with article marketing. This method takes time, but you said lots of work didn't bother you so I suggest this route.

Here's my 2c - Would you look at jumping all the way to the top of Mount Everest, in one jump?

Chances are, you wouldn't. Instead, you'd climb up there one step at a time.

Same principle here. Don't start with the premise that you have to make a "full time living" without investment or spending.

Instead, start with a step by step approach.

    1) How do you make some quick cash - whether $100 / $500 / $1000. You can do it without spending any money...
    - Could be services (writing, link building, forum posting, graphics, scripts)
    2) Next, how do you redeploy the cash you've made, into building a cash flow?
    - Think autoblog+adsense, affiliate marketing, bum marketing, etc. etc.
    - Outsource where you don't have skills or time...
    3) Once you have a steady cash flow (100-500 per month) - how can you parlay this into building a business?
    - Think your own product or service, or even scaling up the cashflow model above.

And on the side - as you do this, start building your list and traffic generation toolkit.

Ultimately, the equation for income is

Traffic + Offer + Conversion = Gross income; Less Expenses...

For the same offer + conversion rate, more targeted traffic gets more income. (2000 visits instead of 1000)
For the same traffic + conversion rate, the better offer ($47 instead of $27) gets more income.
For the same traffic + offer, a better conversion rate (10% instead of 5%) gets more income.

Test, test, test - and retest.... and along the way, watch your expenses, too...

I would also like ideas on how to get advertisers to advertise on a nice website. Are direct sales calls still effective to established companies? It's all kind of demotivating until you find something that works, and there is SO much info out there, I don't have time to go through every possible method of monetization online, I need this going like yesterday and need a jump start in what to focus my time and effort on. Thanks!
