A crucial reason why you should always check the affiliate programs you're promoting

Yeah, I put the promotion in my autoresponder series and expected a lot of sales in the future. After all, the commission is 90%.

But for the past few weeks, I've noticed that I was getting around 75% less than what I normally earn from that program.

I decided to check. Lo and behold. Not only did he change the high-converting sales letter into a subscriber-hogging squeeze page, but he actually decreased the commission percentage from 90% down to 25% without informing his affiliates.

Oh well, now that I know, it's gonna be his loss, not mine.

    Definitely pays to check your products regularly. Nothing worse than realizing the clickbank product you are promoting is now a dead page. I sent 100's of visitors there

    That sucks when they make drastic changes like that.

    That sucks.

    I hit on a great offer not too long ago. I was sending the merchant a boatload of sales and my ROI was great (Im not 100% sure but I think I was his best affiliate). After 2 months he does exactly what your joker did.

    Now normally I would turn the tables and send my buyers to his competitor. But this offer was converting so good, that I became his competitor. All the systems was already in place and it didn't take me long to seriously dent his earnings :-)

    Here is what we as affiliates should actually do:

    Here in South Africa we have a consumer complaint website called hellopeter.com The website is very effective. The idea behind it is that if you have a complaint against a company (bad service, got food poisioning etc) you post it on the site. The company then has a chance to respond to the complaint and give their side of the story. All visitors can see the exchange.

    Something like this targeted at the affiliate industry would be great (mabey there is already something out there, I just dont know about it).
