Wordpress URL problem!

I have a site where I made a page which was the same as a page I already had.

I erased the original page thinking I could just change the URL but it wouldnt let me and kept leaving me with website.com/url-2/ when there wasnt another url.

I then erased THAT one and now it leaves me with website.com/url-3/ even though there is no website.com/url/ or website.com/url-2/???

Has anyone else had this problem??

I really need to get this sorted out and any help would be a great help!

Thank in advance.

Are the pages still in the 'trash'? You probably need to delete them permanently. (Not sure as I haven't tested)

I would love to help you, but I need you to be more specific.

When you talk about erasing, do you mean that page is not uploaded to your server?
If you delete all the different instances of the page and you put any of the three URLs what do you get?
There is any link from other pages in your site to any of those URLs. What happens if you click on it?

      1. The OP was specific enough. Youneed to learn WP if you offer help about WP related issues.
      2. There is NOTHING uploaded to the server in a WP site: all the content (posts and Pages) are stored in the database.

      To the OP:
That's the nature of the MySQL database used by WP: the entries (posts and Pages) will get automatically an incremental ID number and in the case of identical titles/slugs WP will automatically add a number - 2,3,4 etc.

You may need to mess a little bit with the database to get this issue sorted out. If you are familiar with phpMyadmin, you can solve it.
