Which is better? Loudmouth, or quiet but quality?

I'm curious, what do you guys think is a better approach? Being a guy who blasts out mailings to his list every day or two, or someone who spends time on his mailings / products / offers, and only contacts his list two or three times a month?

Granted, the guys who e-mail every day or two definitely put time and energy into their mailings, and I'm not questioning that. However, sometimes you browse your inbox, and see the same name a couple dozen times over, then a new name you haven't seen in a while pops out at you.

Know what I mean? Which is better, and more profitable? Being the guy who doesn't stop talking, or being the guy who only talks when he needs to, hence gaining him more respect.

Opinions?

Bit of a leading question, wouldn't you say?

Anyways I think both approaches can work if done correctly. More exposure up front might mean quicker sales and quicker turn around

But if you only drop real gems every few weeks are so, people might be eager to hear what you say and might trust your suggestions more

It's not so much about which is "better", it's about which approach your market likes. Find that out, then deliver what they want.

Or find out which approach you prefer delivering on a consistent basis, and find a market that fits with that approach.

Either way, it's about giving your market what it wants.

Well most of the top dogs never stop! dear lord, every day - incessant offers blah blah blah...

..then people moan about their methods because they don't agree...

..agree or not, SURELY it is working otherwise they would stop doing it.

Personally, I think an email every few days is enough and even then you better have some decent content otherwise I'm hitting that unsubscribe button.

    My two pennies.

It also depends which stage of listbuilding you are in. If you are just starting out and involved in lots of JV Adswaps, you will be mailing your list pretty frequently. On the other hand, If you have a well established list and just want to maintain your numbers and sales maybe fewer mailings will work best for you. Testing will answer your question.

You also need to take into account the type of emails you are sending to your list. If you are pounding them with constant sales offers you will get a lot of unsubscribes. If you mix up the mailings with free content and sales offers you will likely have better results.

If you do what many marketers "TELL YOU" to do then you would not blast your list often. If you follow what many marketers do you'll blast your list often. Im not saying what is right or wrong, im just stating what I see.

I think there are a lot of different thoughts because both methods can work very well depends on your list

It's really a matter of your own personal preference. I would suggest you treat your readers in the same way you would want to be treated. I am more apt to pay more attention to someone that only shows up in my inbox a few times a month. The guy that is sending me stuff every other day gets annoying and begins to feel like I am being hounded. That's just me though.
