Hi Warriors,

On my blog, I activated a "Recent Comments" widget but the
comments that turn up always state as (0 Comments). How
do I fix that so that it shows up correctly?

Also, does anyone know how to seperate the pingbacks from
the comments?

Asher

Yep, already did. Even my own comments are at 0 comments.

I can correct it if I can see the code. PM me if you want me to do it.

      Hi Peter,

That's a pingback, it's not a comment. But it shows up as comment
nevertheless. Thing I'm looking at is at the main page when you
see everything, at the side bars, there's a "Recent Comments"
      widget.

I'd like those (0 Comments) to reflect actual number of comments.

      @agent_whitehat
Thanks for the offer! But do you have any other idea or suggestion
as to how I may fix it? I don't mean to be rude but I don't really
know you - so it's quite risky for me to just give you access into it.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated!

For that one I asked you, it showed '1 comment', that's why I asked..

Oh, sorry, my fault. I didn't point it out clear enough I guess.
I mean the one on the main page. The ones in the post itself
          work out just fine.

No problem. Just send me the sidebar.php file alone. I am a wordpress theme coder, I can easily identify the problem. I am not going to charge anything for this. This is just an help to a fellow warrior. If still you don't trust me then I have to leave this to others.

    Asher - its Kymmy!

you are here for help and you should take it when offered by such top notch people!

the WF is chock-a-block full of experts in their feilds

when I need help - I come in, state my issue and then the help just comes!

I feel very grateful to be a part of such a great community.
If you are so worried about security just change your passwords as soon as youre done.

Warriors have helped me out so much and I have not had the slightest issue or problem with any security issue - I have just been totally grateful!

If you are so worried - just pay someone to do it - this still doesnt get around your security issues though now does it?

I say..........when opportunity knocks - open the bloody door!!!!

Hi agent_whitehat, thanks so much! I've sent you a PM with the sidebar.php codes. Appreciate what you're trying to do and I'm grateful for the help.

    @Kym
Thanks for your advice. I do understand and agree with you that when I ask for help, I should take it when someone offers.

But I'd like to point out something...

I feel very grateful to be a part of such a great community.

In the Warrior Forums, not everyone is really here to help. There are some people who say one thing but do another. I'm not saying that agent_whitehat is bad but he doesn't have a face for his avatar, his profile doesn't have a name, he has a few other things which didn't establish credibility in my point of view. So, therefore, I couldn't trust him straight away & give him my login information even if I've changed it. I'm not a tech-wiz but I have heard of keyloggers, hackers, etc. There are too many "I got hacked" stories that I've read in the Warrior Forums.

All I'm doing here is protecting my interests. I've spent quite a lot of time on my blog and it's contents - shouldn't I have the right to defend it from possible predators? I'm sure you've seen it - hackers who wormed their way into blogs and killed the whole site. I'm taking whatever measures I know and can to prevent such things from happening to me.

I say..........when opportunity knocks - open the bloody door!!!!
When opportunity knocks, open the "bloody" door?

If I had opened up doors to all the opportunities that came my way (as I'm sure all IMers will experience), I also open up myself to untold danger. Consider the opportunities, then open the "bloody" door.

Wow. I never thought that using my favorite "Bee" avatar will affect my credibility. Thanks for pointing them out. Now my profile is updated

By the way, I checked the code you sent. It uses a widget in that place to call the recent comments and the comment count. I cannot judge the problem in the widget by seeing this code alone. I think you might be using a separate plugin for recent comments instead of the built-in one.

My suggestion is to use this plugin:
      coffee2code.com Customizable Post Listings

This allows complete customization of how your recent comment should look without getting deep into programming. If you have any more questions, let me know.
